OK...the bar's pretty dang low

Maybe you saw (and if you didn't it is a vote for your GOOD judgement) ABC's "Dating in the Dark" on Monday 8/16. One contestant is a DJ. Nice-looking woman asks him to do some "radio patter" and he basically billboards a couple of artists "coming up" right after traffic ... hang on. Woman gushes ... 'wow...that's pretty hot'.

REALLY!!!!????

So I guess all the whack-whack consultants MUST be right...people really just want you to talk about banal benign CRAP and the audience will swoon???

Depressing....

(or maybe I'm just jealous because doing "radio patter" didn't do CRAP for me in high school or college!!!)

If she falls for that on the first date, let's just say you've got the rest of the night....ummm......"secured".

I can only hope she said that sarcastically.

But look a little closer, not just the woman, this guy and the "radio patter" he offers (or really, lack thereof.) But also the network running the show, it's producers and people who actually find entertainment value in it and you'll see the bar has been dropped across the board EVERYWHERE. That's why I don't watch much TV these days. I'm too bored by it.

Sad but true........

Reality TV in it's pure form was a great idea and good entertainment the problem is as more shows tried to compete and one up the next guy... Producers bowed to the pressure of getting ratings and pretty soon they were re-shooting scenes that the camera's missed and intentionally causing friction and drama all in the name of ratings and reality TV became anything but reality....
