ok, this is killing me

I read all the Post's on APE.......but tell me the thruth
Why did Cox fire Cat Thomas, because this seems to have started
the slide

"The Slide" has been underway for sometime before Cat got the axe. One look at the monthly reports confirms what I've been saying all along ... the Cox Cluster in Jacksonville has turned into a fiscal black hole, and the losses seem to mount exponentially. Cat's salary was too large for the budget to bear, and he went the way of Mike Cella, Scott Walker, David Moore, etc. Anyone in that building that makes NEAR six figures and doesn't work in sales better have airchecks at the ready ... everyone below that level is already miserable and looking for work somewhere else ... or should be.
It all comes down to the almighty dollar ... which Cox can't seem to keep in the building.

HEAR the reasons and excuses ... KNOW the truth!

As I read the boards, talk to people, one trend seems to have become quite clear to me. Publicly traded companies keep such downward pressure on expenses (wages) that no one with any real talent/creativity is going to make any real money for long periods of time. Vets from yesteryear that stay in the business and don't want to job hop/city hop are actually taking cuts in pay.

Then we all wonder why our product is now crap relative to what it could be.

Managers pay incentive is to cut/slash not produce quality. All will eventually change but I'm beginning to wonder if we'll live to see it cycle back....

Good luck in your market guys and gals my only advice is to learn to like the taste of peanut butter and Ramen Noodles 'cause with an income less than 6 figures today dictates that type of menu.

Why was Cat Thomas really let go a previous entry asked? Uh .. after close to 15 years as using the jocks that worked for him as scape goats, guess the tables were switched and his bosses did the same to him. Bottom line .. money talks ... and there isn't much left of it at Cox anymore. The market manager is sitting on the hot seat on that one.

;D And I would say "AlCapone" Knows APE
