1) KKGO took off the link to Countryboards.com on their website this making countryboards.com again a country music over all board instead of the KKGO boards specifically dedicated to KKGO. There was speculation as to whether something was going to happen with the station ie. another change that the listeners wouldn't like and that the link was severed because the station does not want to have the station linked to the complaining that was done when Todd was let go, the live listeners were taken off and other anti-KKGO posts and statements were made. New members of the boards might read complaints in regards to the station as a reason NOT to listen... so PERHAPS the link was severed due to this ideal.
2) A member of the boards believed to be a radio insider posted in a thread having to do with one radio personality covering for another as to the reason why being ... "because they are busy letting some of the air staff go today"
This statement led listeners to speculate as to who was let go and what happened at the station to whom.
In ANOTHER thread where a listener stated they are no longer listening to KKGO, the SAME board member believed to be an insider said, "yea...you should at least come back next week....starting
early for the morning show.... I hear it's gonna be off the hook!"
Leading to more speculation because of the part of the quote being.."STARTING EARLY FOR THE MORNING SHOW..." suggesting that the morning show will be different next week... that perhaps Shawn was moved to 10AM block as he was on KZLA, that the show has been reformatted etc. Whether the morning show was let go,whether they are changing up who is on the morning show etc.
I myself and others I have talked to have NO IDEA what is going on for sure but we do know that the "radio insider" who has been posting on countryboards.com since October of 2006 has primarily been on target for
most of their posts since he/she joined the boards... SO it has the members of the boards speculating as to what could be going on.

I haven't noticed anything much different. I doubt that they will flip formats (that is only the AM side) so maybe they are going to revamp the lineup.
My question is why not bring back Whitney in the evenings? I liked listening and sometimes I'd hear callers from where I once lived in Central Ohio. Oh maybe that's why, no on air callers anymore.

As of this afternoons post by them regards to the station getting rid of the morning show and moving Shawn Parr to a different slot....
Could this be true... MAYBE, but I believe that SOMEONE would say SOMETHING on the air in order to NOT have an uproar when the change is made with people hearing a NEW morning show and thinking Shawn Parr was let go etc.
What will happen to Robin Banks?
Will she be let go or do traffic on whatever shift Shawn is supposedly going to?
Is Tonya still going to be on the air or will she do as she did on KZLA and be focusing on the behind the scenes of being Program Director and Music Director at the station?
If they are Moving Shawn and Tonya does go off the air there is still the absence of a host on the evening shift... So they bring in a new morning show and take Tonya off the air... Shawn does either his old 10-2 shift or the evening shift... still leaves a shift without a personality...
In answer to an above question from another board member, I do not believe they will bring Whitney's Big Time back to KKGO because she is National, not live and local which is the reason the station gave for dropping her show...
Just more rumor and speculation in answer to rumor and speculation...

When they talk about the morning show the past few days they say Shawn in the morning. Is Robin still the traffic person and cohost?
Listening today, Shawn was off and there was no traffic. If Shawn is moving shifts it is possible that he could be solo. They only have traffic during morning and afternoon drive. If he moves to afternoon and they put Paul back in his former slot then Robin could do afternon traffic. They did have a consultant before the end of last year and for some reason decided to fire Todd. If I were a consultant that would not have been my recomendation. But then those consultants get the big $$$ for consulting and I sit here getting no pay for listening and whining. I guess I missed the boat.

Well there is no Robin but he's now putting some listener calls on so I guess you lose some to win some.
I like the changes so far. Well, what little I’ve listened to I like. There’s lots more music in the morning now. Not that I ever had a complaint about the amount of music that was played in the morning. I always thought they played a lot. But now it seems like they’re playing even more. Shawn’s babbling has been curtailed quite a bit and it seems that there’s more structure to what he says, when he is allowed to talk. I like the new traffic person they’ve teamed Shawn up with. She’s much better than Robin.
I still have a feeling that Shawn will be shifted to a different time slot and that the station is going to bring in a new morning team. That Radio56 person is usually right and he/she said Shawn would be moving to a different time slot. Now that they’ve curtailed Shawn’s random nothingness, I’m okay with him in the morning. But I also wouldn’t mind if they brought in a morning team along the lines of Mark & Brian.

The new traffic reporter is annoying, she "woo hoos" too much. Just give the traffic and make nice with Shawn, then shut up!
I guess that if Shawn is the big duck in the pond that he could and would have said something but his would not be the final word. I suspect that the consultant they hired made the suggestions which led to Robin's leaving and Todd Baker's as well. I certainly did not agree with Todd's departure. Other's on here have moaned about Shawn's incessant chatter about himself and a lot of that was facilitated by Robin as she egged him on a lot. I thought he sounded a bit subdued today and just a touch uncomfortable about being on his own, maybe my imagination but I felt or sensed it viscerally somehow. I do know that I like Robin and Nora better with the traffic and how they interact with the host. The new lady must think she needs to whoop and holler to be country.
This feels like when your boss fired the person in the next office that you went to lunch with every day. You lose a friend but life goes on and if you want your job you have to accept it. By the way I just checked and Robin's farewell is gone from the website. It now goes from Shawn to Tonya.
