OK WHO HAS THE WORST TV WEBSITE?

MY selection is WFAA Ch.8 In Dallas. When you want to read a particular story or see the weather radar,a constant "pop UNDER" interupts and blocks what you wish to see. There is a close tab.but it doesn't work 50% of the time,or it is too small to notice. The video Blogs ( with the exception of John MCaa's and Gary's film reviews) are a complete waste of space, and time. Who cares If Macie Jepson prefers "Pj's, What Gloria watches on TV,or anothers fight with spring wasps? They are ridiculous and how much are they paying that "Mojo Journalist" who travels around town like some cheap "why guy?

A TV website should be updated news, weather, sports,a few entertainment news features, traffic reports.
The Best one is KTVT CBS 11, is a lot more user friendly than the "Pop unders" at Ch.8 and NO video blogs.

Any of the Belo products (WFAA,DMN) are a joke..they're over bloated with ads. NBC5i ranks a close second as its a generic package with interchangable parts.

If it weren't for my AdBlock program, the Morning News site (much less Ch. 8's) would be too much to mess with. Before Viacom/CBS came in and ramped up KTVT/11, I would have named theirs the worst--wasn't much content there before the buyout.

Ch.8 by far! Who is tired of seeing the weight loss pop-up with the "incredible shrinking woman" move across their screen every time you click a new page????

CW33's website is worst than channel 8 tho....It barely has anything on it...I think they added video recently.

You're right, Firefox's AdBlock Plus is a must for a site like Channel 8 (or on the radio side, anything from Clear Channel). But even without the "pop-unders," the site is no longer user friendly. It's lackluster, with bad layout and little continuity. And where's the Channel 8 logo?

I've seen the shrinker on other sites too, a good reason to have AdBlock!

Hadn't looked at 33's site lately, sounds like an easy nomination.

I've never understood why 8 logos their website differently than the broadcast...most stations are content to do theirs the same on both.

They are all pretty bad. There is this fun catch phrase in Web design called "Search Engine Optimization". Basically, when I go to Google and pull up "Dallas News" what comes up. Channel 8 is great at this (ad circus withstanding). No one else is on the first page. 11 is on the second, and the rest according to Web search stats, will never be found.

Aesthetics -- 11 is way too link happy, 8 shoot me now, 4 is not a news site... it's MySpace for dorks, 33 doesn't exist. Give me 5 by default.

For the Houston stations: FOX 26 is the worst only because of the video on the O&O website template that slowly starts loading (if at all) but it is better than nothing. Nothing being a splash page with the logo/anchor team on top and links on the bottom especially the PREADATOR Check! Ooh so scary and soo much hype on that one.

The second worst is KHOU's because of Belo's design noted above. Click2Houston sounds like some mailer's website like the SAVE on everyting mailer they partnered up with a while back. The news is just as mediocre as their TV product. KTRK is very good especially that they're an O&O.
