so evidently my last post didnt go through? Or at least not on this computer.
So I again pose my question.

Since this is the first time I have not been home for Thanksgiving, I am at a lost for where I can find some Arlo guthrie on the air. What channels can I expect to hear my "Alice's Restaurant?" I need my yearly fix of an 11min song that includes 4 by 8 black and white glossy photos with arrows and drawing on the front, and a full description on the back.
Remember, you can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant.

Last time I heard it was when 98.1 was stunting inbetween the Cat and the Max. I asked where the last time that was played on the radio was, and was told Rock 103 will play it on Thanksgiving. I have the original LP, so I'll hear about the 27 8X10 color glossy pictures with the circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was to be used a evidence against us from my own turntable!

Forget the song. Has anyone actually sat through the film? That's guerilla filmmaking at it's finest... CFKane

I've seen about 20 minutes of that...I can sit through a 20 minute song, but have a hard time with some 90 minute films....hmmmm

"Anybody got any extra?"

This thread reminds me of FM100's "I'm pickin' up F-M 100, I hear Memphis, calling me home..." I last heard it on either Thanksgiving or Christmas a few years ago. Anyone know where I can get a copy of it or just listen to it on the net. I grew up listening to FM100 in the 80's and that song brought back a lot of memories.

IIRC, I was the last one to play it. Labor day weekend, Lance & I did it in a shift turnover after I suggested we play it *once* for old times sake. You'll hear it again, but don't anyone hold their breath on it going into regular 'whatever' rotation haha.

Dang! That's what I forgot to get a copy of before I left Memphis!!! Yo, RG... can you get me a copy?

from what I understand Rock 103 plays it every Thanksgiving. Anyone know if that's true?
______________
Experience is a tough teacher; you have to fail the test before you can learn the lesson.

I've probably got it somewhere. Probably with my copy of "Memphis, My Hometown", credited to Ron Jordan on the "WMPS" label, and my copy of Wyeth Chandler singing "Memphis, Tennessee"

Yes dear, it's true - they usually try to play it around noon and at 5:00 on Turkey Day.
