OK95radio in Tri-Cities

Why did OK95 move to such a poor frequency at KLKY 96.1? The reception was so much clearer on 97.9 KHTO. Why did they move? Their latest book showed a steep decline in listeners. I hope they bring it in closer to Tri-Cities and Walla Walla soon. It is such a great sounding station station with Rick Dees and Ryan Seacrest on the weekends. Where is Z-Fun 95.3 as seen on their website? I can't find it anywhere on the FCC website. Anyone know?

Both towers where owned by Alexandra Communications. The Walla Walla tower was sold to Bustos Media. OK 95 is owned by Jacobs Media and they got stuck with KLKY at 96.1

When the 96.1 tower came online, it was the spanish format that is now on 97.9. Both frequencies where airing OK 95 but that didnt last long. OK 95 is not my kind of music.

Now, Z Fun, it is a rebroadcast of ZFun 106 out of Moscow, Idaho KZFN. There website: http://www.zfun106.com but it just shows the logo for some reason.

Now, what I think they should do is move the format that is on 100.5 KQFM in Hermiston to the 96.1 tower. Move OK 95 over to the 100.5 tower and try to move it to the Tri-Cities market. That would be a good idea, but I'm just one person and the radio world is full of RET**DS...

Questions, ASK.

Ok95radio.com is interesting. Not always totally successful but interesting.

Jacobs mistake is he is trying to pay homage to station that has been dead for 10 years. Factor in the move in/move out in the Tri-Cities - maybe 50% his desired audience even knows what "ok95" was originally. I thought his programming was smarter as HTO when he was @ 97.5. Reintroducing a dead brand on a different frequency from the brand - odd.

The bumping from 97.5, 97.9 and now to 96.1 speaks volumes as to his profitability. If 0k95 was doing great, it'd be a full signal in that market - it is not. Now if as expected getting bumped to 100.5. The rimshot signal dance continues. He's fighting for KEYW's tablescraps.

RE: 95.3

Odd that he's promoting it on the website. Normally you don't promote competition. I'm not sure if he's programming it too or just trying to build a rimshot/translator empire in the Tri-Cities.

Irregardless, Its interesting to watch. Ok95radio.com is well programmed. I'll give it that. Its long term prospects as signal in the Tri-Cities though - very very doubtful.

More like Jacobs is using this to angle for his next job.
