Okay Fall 07 Phase 1 for Jax

Let's just say the numbers have gone everwhere and there are some shockers......

WJXL-AM/1010XL tops WFXJ-AM/930 The Fox

WFKS-FM/97.9 Kiss FM tops WAPE-FM/WAPE 95.1

WQIK-FM/The Hitcker trends down while WGNE-FM/Gator Country has trended up

Smooth Jazz is actually up....wow for a satelite fed station.

Cox Stations have gone out door here in Jacksonville.

Rooster has been a joke for the last two years (hopefully the joke will end soon)

and will a decent Oldies/Classic Hits Format show up here in the market soon?

lets talk about this

I'll be shocked if the Rooster goes with anything but oldies/classic hits.

Renda's Gator has tremendous imaging. Completed a recent trip north and back, and it was by far
the best country station I heard.

As usual, your facts and analysis are wrong

WOKV-AM/FM was #1 12+, #2 A25-54, #1 A35-64 and #1 in Men 18+

hardly "gone out door"

WJGL remains decent, though they are down a bit

FYI - WGNE beat WQIK in Oct (A25-54) a very good sign for them

I would ask if anyone thinks there is a direct and attributable
correlation to stations that did OUTSIDE MARKETING (TV, Billboards, etc)
and those who didn't?

Cox hasn't done anything (so far anyway) while CC does their free billboards
and some TV

Outside of Gator TV in the CMA, what other Renda marketing has there been?

I am talking in terms of 12+ population here...i can't afford to see the numbers you may get hold of consdering that they are 10k a book or more. WOKV maybe the only thing holding Cox up right now here in Jax....is WAPE ready to finally get beaten in a book by WFKS? It could happen. The Point seems to be going nowhere IMHO and same goes with Rock but I could be wrong.

Now as for Gator beating WQIK that is great....its sounds that bringing in the old Morning Zoo from WAPE was the best thing they could have done. I know they have worked hard to make that station a great sounding station. Weekends are now mostly live which is great. The only part to fill is the 7pm to 12am and they be set. But right now what they have going for them is the best deal in town. Just look at this way you got a three person morning show vs a three morning show on the two country stations here which is needed to setup a war between the stations located on the 99 dial position. It takes time to build a station and for Gator it has but they have found the right combo now to make it the effort needed.

later.

Smooth Jazz is actually up....wow for a satelite fed station.

Huh? With their spike and WOKV's numbers one can't help but wonder if a bunch of 60 year old guys filled out their diaries this time.

Hey, watch it.

I'll be a 60 year old guy next year.

Bob

But do either of you guys listen to instrumental versions of 60s music? Of course I know someone in their 20s that listens to Jones College.

 Hell No!.. I hated Mantavoni, Lawerence Welk and that bunch when they were popular.. Actually, I live in Winston Salem Now and I listen to REAL RADIO 104.7 from ORLANDO off their website.. Bob probably listens to Jones College.. Actually, I delve in a lot of old airchecks from the Kahuna.. Central Fla Radio..Reel Radio ..and "That was Radio.. Good stuff..Right Big Kahuna Ape Man Bob Dillehay! "Stan's in the Building" BIG APE!!
