Okay, So...Who've You Found On MySpace?

Folks,

There are a lot of interesting bands at MySpace; there's also a lot of music that, the less said, the better.

I've found a couple of very good bands [The Coral Sea, GoodBooks, Polytechnic] but, then again, that's my mandate.

How 'bout you?

Kevin Max. This guy is putting out literate indie rock paying homage to greats like Morrissey. A true poet, worth a listen.

I actually had an idea for a great radio show for a rock station. Maybe for about two hours, on a select day of the week, the station will play nothing but random myspace bands. The show could be called "Myspace Showcase." However, in these corporate radio days, I doubt anything like that would ever come true.

WHTG/WBBO in NJ has been doing a show like that. On Friday nights they play songs off their "friends" myspace profiles.

Hah.

A commercial station breaks tradition and schedules a new music showcase on a Friday night, instead of in the Sunday graveyard.

Wonder where they got *that* idea?
