Well KRXO took second, KOMA on Top, Buzz at the bottem (like always), and KATT doing Alright, KJYO Over KKWD and KQOB sinking faster then the titanic with out a morning show. Has anyone really listened to radio around here? it sucks now Lex and Terry are god awful, Bob and Tom are better then they are but not by much, Lisa and Ron are no more, Mo is Gone so there ya go
 
Did anyone notice that we are now ranked as #48 by market size?
 
yeah OKC Radio market includes Grady, Lincon, and a couple of more counties

Whoo hoo! It's good to be back in the Top 50! We were 49, I believe, when I started in the industry, and started sinking (not my fault!) since then. It's Grady, Lincoln, and Kingfisher who gave us the boost; it's nice to be one of the largest cities (land-wise) plus largest metros. Top 50 is always more-prestigious. I don't know what possessed them to do it, but it's nice.

Um, did I miss something? KQOB was up in the ratings I saw...

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask: did Jack even garner a .5? How many days was it broadcasting during the book?
 
Radio in OKC in general is in really sad shape...Jack and Ron, old news a tired format.
Jack needs to stick to shilling over priced chevys for the Stanley crooks and flipping burgers on 49.95 grills! KRXO and Majic are just as pathetic...and poor KOMA-FM. shouldn't Danny know how to bow out gacefully, he means well but is VERY long in the tooth as is Ronnie Kaye.

Oh, my God, what happened to radio orginality...guess the consultants got total hold of it.

As for me I listen to KRMG/Tulsa and KRLD/Dallas...
and yes, even to shortwave WBCQ 7415 Khz , billing themselves as free radio (and I believe it)....super, fun and many times very edgy stuff. Check it out!
 
Hey Beamer! aka Givens Quit posting dissing your former station. It doesn't look good when you disrespect your old employer trying to find a new job. I have been in the biz a lot longer, and let me tell you, it is a smarter route to go.

The "Buzz" is just a cheesy imitation of a REAL alternative station. All they can muster is a 3 share or so. They are NOTHING to get excited about. If you want a REAL alternative station, try KROQ or KLIR or KWOD or even LUCY on XM. KNRX at least had a prayer, but this fem-driven crap they play on the Buzz is totally lame-assed. Look for KHBZ to be La Preciosa in a year or so. CC will wonder why they ever bothered with anything else after they make the right decision and dump their current excuse for alternative.
 
Fem-driven? KNRX played Alanis and Joan Osborne and Sarah McLachlan...and KHBZ is fem-driven now because of what exactly? Because they play Björk and PJ Harvey on their 90s shows/weekends???
 
Just by listening to them online they sound like Z104.5 did oh wait its the same guy that sank it. The Jokes on you Clear Channel.
 
To answer my earlier question, it appears Jack got either a .4 or a .6...but I didn't think Arb listed anything less than .5, so I guess I'll assume the .6 is correct.

BTW Bjork & PJ Harvey ARE female records. Those songs have ZERO credibility with today's Alternative audience. Bjork is actually worse than playing dance on an Alternative station.

The point you miss completely is that Alanis etc. were in REGULAR ROTATION then, so how does a noon-show/specialty weekend rotation of fems make the station fem-DRIVEN now? There's nothing fem in regular rotation. Playing the screeching guitars of The Breeders/Veruca Salt isn't that mind-boggling now (in that specialty rotation), but I agree that Björk has no credibility right alongside of their playing White Town again in today's Alt environment. Either way (to quote Poe), I turn them all up, because I'm not FROM today's Alt environment!

Just because he dresses goofy does'nt mean he knows Alternative. Look at their numbers compared to the KATT. There is money to be made doing spanish oldies on that stick, hit Citadel and Tylers hard with that one. Has anyone have an Idea where Lisa is form Bob Fm? in rehad again?
