Oklahoma CC Rocker to flip Spanish?

Oklahoma City Clear Channel owned rocker “94.7 The Buzz” has apparently let all of their board-ops and air staff go today. Their website has been removed, with a place marker. Current speculation is that it might go a “Mega” format similar to what KLOL is now.

Do OKC have a hispanic population large enough to support such a format?

I'll leave the answer to the expert (Señor Gleason).

"Hispanic" is not a race. It is an ethnicity / cultural definition. There are Black Hispanics, white Hispanics, Indingenous Hispanics and even Asian Hispanics.

OKC does not seem to have a very big Hispanic population, but were there 10% there is probably enough for about a 4 share radio station. However, the Census shows only 6.7% Hispanic population, and that would probably only be ood for a 2.5 to 2.8 share potential... not stellar in that market.

Funny, there's a website there right now.

http://www.947thebuzz.com

Turns out it was just a stunt.
