WMER was a live local news station, a daytimer at the time in 1981-1982. Sometime in late 1982, it went to CNN headline news if I remember correctly. I'm not sure when that ended or when those call letters were eventually dropped....Prior to its incarnation as WMER it had been WJBQ-AM, and WJAB of course....
