I'm curious about the old AM station license classes and the amount of power they were allowed. If I remember correctly, they went like this:
Clear Channels:
I-A 50,000-U non-directional
I-B 50,000-U DA-N
II-A 50,000-U DA-1 (or DA-2 or DA-3, etc.)
II-B Anywhere from 50,000 down to 10,000, day or night, possible directional antenna
II-C Anywhere from 50,000 down to 250 day or night, possible directional antenna
II-D Anywhere from 50,000 down to 250, daytime only, possible directional antenna
Regional Channels:
III-A Anywhere from 5,000 down to 500, day or night, possible directional antenna
III-B Anywhere from 5,000 down to 500, daytime only, possible directional antenna
Local Channels:
IV 1,000-D, 250-N, non-directional
P.S. I know there were other classes, such as Alaska and Hawaii having the class N, but I'm mainly concerned about the ones stated above. Anybody remember?
