Back in 1966-67 I briefly worked at a very small AM station that was located between Waverly and Piketon, just south of Lake White. It was a two tower AM daytimer I believe. Not really a station for my resume, but it would be interesting if anyone remembers the station and can tell me what happened to it.

Old AM station near Waverly in the '60s

If it's the one on this page, it's still a daytimer but moved frequencies some years back and has two FM sister stations now.
Techie2, thank you very much!! Indeed it was WPKO and that old monster board in the picture brought it all back like it was yesterday. That was a great article and I learned a couple of things I didnt know. My first job was at WBEX but never knew they had a remote studio in Waverly in the 50's. (I'm not THAT old, I started there in 1965) and the mention of WIOI and WCOL, other stations I worked at in the 60's.

You're welcome, glad I could help. I believe Tyrone maintains that page, he's still in the area and does a bunch of contract engineering work, probably including those Waverly stations.
Enjoyed the linked article with photos of the studio equipment and the bluegrass bands. I do listen to its current incarnation at 660 AM playing southern gospel on occasions when I'm playing with the car radio dial. For just 1,000 watts WXIC has an awesome daytime signal coming into West Central Ohio....must be the water table underneath the tower.

WXIC even reaches up here to Columbus during daylight.
