Old is new at DHA?

Heard the old morning man Rob Moorehead was spotted in the building at WDHA. Could he be making a return?

Is the current guy permanent? or is he just filling until they get a new morning show?
(who is it anyway?) The Greasy Breakfast show was a DHA institution. All the personalities were really good at that station. The few times I have listened they have sounded very green.....like the DJs just got out of college. Bringing back some of that real Jersey blood would probably do them good.

Personally, I thought he was a bit dull, I want a little more pep in my morning. But some people seemed to like him. If it's him, then I wish him all the luck!

Dull? Yes, I won't disagree with you ...he could be at times, but at least he was a broadcaster, sounded like one and the show sounded pretty decent for a local morning show. My original point was the station could use a more polished sound overall with respect to the DJs. It sounds nothing like it used to that's all. ..sounds more like DJ's from much smaller stations..again, does anyone know if the guy who is on now is the new guy and who is he?

The "new" guy that everyone is writing about is Jim Monahan who has been on the station for many years as fill-in and weekends. Before that, he spend something like 20 years at a "small" station called WNEW-FM, New York. There are a few people here that complain daily about WDHA. It's the same old rant...on and on. They should just stop listening if it is that bad. Sounds more like they are jealous.

Jealous?? Of college Radio?? YEAH THAT MUST BE IT!!! Ever since Terrie Carr left the station has NOT AT ALL been the same. Here's a thought let's keep having "Double Play Weekends" because we can't think of anything MORE EXCITING to do. What happened to all the cool stuff they used to have: Free Music Monday, Double Play Wednesday, ALL REQUEST WEEKENDS...it's all GONE!!! Sounds like this is a PD issue ALL THE WAY AROUND. Afterall, isn't it the PD who does the hiring of air-staff/air-talent. Based on what I have heard of him, I tend to think that he is hiring equally capable people instead of "qualified" people to fill positions. Let's face it...if he hires people that are "BETTER" than him than HE TOO looks mediocre at best. WDHA management needs to seriously look into this matter. I for one am not trying to be overly critical of what once was a GREAT STATION, but rather illustrating the facts as I see them as a listener. I guess the old saying is true: "YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET!!!" Program Directors Included!!

Phewwww I feel relieved now :-\

The BEST thing they can do is bring Rob Moorehead back IMO!!!

That may or may not be the case. As fas as hiring air talent goes, how much money has been allocated for air staff? Probalby not much and those decisions are usually made by the GM or Regional and Corporate Mangers. If the company is not willing to pay for top talent, you're not going to be able to acquire top talent. A good PD should be able to develop talent...but if the money isn't there to retain the talent, they'll just move on to something bigger and better.

I agree, the station is not nearly as good as it was in the past. Certainly there are programming issues that a good PD should be addressing. However, WDHA has lost a lot of good people in recent years...there must be more people to blame than the PD.

Nahh but call it what you will... Just stating an observation of mine. Are YOU someone at the station that has taken offense to my post?? Leave your email I would love to discuss my observations with you further... Deal? or No Deal?

PS- Nice Grammar... it illustrates a lot about someone's character.

Really? How so? I made a fair and honest evaluation as to the quality of the on-air product based on my 20-plus years in radio broadcasting, programming, and management while I was defending the program director (whom I do not personally know) since he was being single out for blame.

No axes to grind on my part...no name calling, no back stabbing. I stand by my comments and am not afraid to attach my name to them as people like you are (PleasanttoShore).

The pd at WDHA is a visionary...

Who else would have the guts to do "Pedophilia Jokes about Pete Townsend?" Especially after what happened with that congressman...

Or how the PD/Midday guy calling Bon Jovi Fans a Homosexual Slur...Seriously... ask yourself... whatever job you work at... if you did any of these things... would you still be employed?

Greater Media and the VP of programing for NJ Handed picked this "edgy guy" to lead them into the future! Kudos!

The man is the next great leader in radio...! Start Listening...It's gonna get better! ;D
