old KPPL 107.5 (Chico) call letters & frequency

Hi! I was wanting to tell you about the KPPL call letters & frequencies, from Chico & Denver, CO. What was 107.5 (Chico) call letters before KPPL/KQPT? Did they use the same ownership as the Denver one? Was the Chico KPPL logo the same as the Denver one? The call letters KPPL was used on the same frequency, first in Denver back in the 80's, then they used it in Chico, after the Denver KPPL call letters were changed to KRXY. Now the Denver KPPL frequency is KQKS-FM, while the Chico KPPL frequency is now KQPT-FM, which got it's call letters from a Sacramento station, just like the KZAP call letters. They were first used in Sacramento, then Redding, & now used in Chico. Some stange feeling, heh? Let me know what you think about all this.

According to the FCC's database, 107.5 was originally KTMX until 1991 when they changed to KPPL and then to KQPT in 2000. I don't think there is any particular relationship between 107.5 in Chico and any Denver station...the station just picked up the calls when they became available for whatever reason. As for the the Point's (KQPT) current format...I enjoyed the station a lot more back when it was 'The River' (KPPL). It definately had more of an Triple-A feel and they played a pretty good blend of music.
