Do you miss the old WKRQ. I remember when my aunt used to work there and bring us home all of the listener swag. I used to have a shirt that said "LETS RUN THE FROG OVER - RIBBIT"

What happened to Q102 no one is for sure. I will have to say now that they are HIT MUSIC OF THE 90'S AND NOW, they are much better then a few years ago.

I still have a stuffed flying pig that has the Q102 logo embroidered on it's chest too.

Anyone have any of the old airchecks or other Q102 things from the past?

There's are two Q102 airchecks at www.reelradio.com. Put "Q102" in the search engine, and you'll find them along with airchecks from Philadephia's Q102.

I'll get back to you when I think of a cute quote</P>

I worked at Q 102 right after their "heyday" it was the early 90's. I was there as a part-time promotions guy right before Randy Miller got there. I have a few airchecks from those days.....including the cat in the dryer bit. I was there for about 5 years. I worked with Dave Mason, Terry Boyd and Linda Welby as well as Mark Sabastain, The Hawkman, Race Tayler and a few others.

One of my favorite Q 102 memories is Mark Sabastain putting the frog in the blender.

Good times!

When I worked at Mix in the late 90's as Program Coordinator...I put together Sabo's and Race's v/t'd shows. It was pretty weird having both big names on the same station again.

I still talk to Race from time to time....he and "Patty Shannon" are doing well in New York. I haven't seen Sabo since his last show when he broke out the Billy Squire and signed off with his signature "I want to see you completely naked" bit.

Funny thing about working with Mark....he refused to learn you name for the first 6 months you worked at Q 102. He would just call us "GUY" Then after 6 months he would ask you name and remember it about half the time.
