Between 1978 to 1981, I used to record casino commercials whenever I was in range of KDWN's signal, which would reach my grandmother's house in Grover Beach, CA (just south of Pismo Beach). Reason being that I was a big Vagas fan and, as a young kid, that town was better than anything Disneyland could offer, Tomorrowland included.
While waiting for these commercials, I listened to many of the personalities and voice of the station; couple of which comes quickly to mind: The Old Professor and Jack London. I still have those tapes (now transfered to CD-R) and still listen to them.
My question is who were the early poeple of KDWN and what happened to them.
Thanks,
Don-O
PS: I occationaly check up with the old station, either through the web site and whenever I'm in Vegas. It was bad enough when they got a new owner that carries Fox News, but it was worse when they moved out of the Union Plaza. Maybe I'm getting too old to listen to radio.
