Old radio stick

I know the KPRC-TV tower was originally on S. Post Oak, near where the Home Depot is now on the West Loop. At one time, besides the Ch. 2 quonset huts, there was the TV tower and 3 shorter sticks. One of those shorter sticks is still there, about 50 yds west of Newscastle, south of Westpark. Is that still in use? What/who for?

When you say KPRC-TV tower, you mean the TV transmitter or STL studio tower ? I think Channel 2 has always transmitted from Mo City (but I could be wrong)..I know 11 has not but it was a Galveston channel originally and moved to MoCity in the 60s...I am not aware about the other towers...(Could be the AM site originally since they were coowned for years by the Hobby family)...

I could be way off but I seem to recall that site was used by Channel 2 when it was KLEE-TV, circa 1950. Not that I was around back then, of course. And again correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember KPRC radio being anywhere but their present site off 610 near McCarty. I know they were there in the late 50's.

Just south of the Williams Tower on Post Oak was the Post Oak Drive-In Theatre. Next to it, was KPRC Radio and TV. The radio's 3 towers were in the field behind the studios.
