Old Russ Lang reel to reel cabinet

Hi:

I am picking up an MCI JH110C reel to reel machine that is in a Russ Lang wood cabinet (not the original MCI steel cabinet). Do these cabinets unscrew to be dis-assembled for transport? Want to try to fit this in my Corolla when I go pick it up.

Thoughts?

Ruslang you to be down the street from me in Bridgeport, CT. All the stuff I saw was pretty much one piece but the Scully cabinet one of my stations had was able to be dissembled to a point. Semi-large pieces from what I remember but it does make it easier to transport.
 
The top "turret" does come loose from the base--held in by 4 long screws. (I've glommed onto 2 of these I use for desk-top racks. Works great for equipment that isn't very deep, such as hybrids, CD players and mike processors--fits in places where the standard table-top racks won't. But I digress..).

I am not sure if the base breaks down very far--been a while since I've actually studied one.

Good luck with that cabinet I have a small Ruslang studio rack at home and I wish I had purchased a couple for my personal use. There stuff was decently made and they were within driving distance, hence no shipping.

I ended up with an old, light-duty Tascam roll around for my Otari 5050 but while it's not anything fancy it serves the purpose.

Thanks for the info. I'll be driving 4-5 hours to pick this up, and am hoping to know if I can take the base apart or should I rent a van.
