Where I was living at the time, I didn't move until 1987.
I called the WTRG 800 number and asked who had set the distance record?
The DJ asked, "Why, do you think you've got it?"
Then when I described where I lived I was told there were people in Virginia farther away who were listening. I don't think so, but it's possible.
