"Old" TV Set Disrupts Broadband

It took 18 months to discover the reason people in a UK village had issues with their (ADSL) broadband speeds.

They say they tossed the bad TV in the construction dumpster next door. Hope no one fished it out and took it (and the interference) to a new neighborhood.

ADSL is probably using standard unshielded telco cable. The RF noise from the TV was likely being picked up from the nearby power lines.
