Old WHAS questions...

I remember my grandparents listening to Jane Norris on WHAS for years when I was younger. How long was she there and why did she leave? She seems to be rather successful in the DC area in radio and TV, plus a gig with the Bush Adminstration. Thanks.

She replaced Jack Fox in 1993(ish). Jack was offered the midday talk show but declined. Jane was there until the early part of the soon to end 2000s.

Speaking of Jack Fox. I remember him from the original 1400 WEOA and then WIKY before he went to WHAS. What's he doing these days?

I think he's still doing voice work and he also records audio books for the American Printinghouse for the Blind.

Jane did the 84WHAS 9AM-12Nn shift from 1994 to 2002. She left to accept a job with ABC Radio at WMAL in Washington, D.C. After about a year there, she left radio to work for Senator Mitch McConnell's wife, Elaine Chao, in the Bush Administration. For the last few years, Jane has been back in radio, working for Bonneville Broadcasting in Washington, D.C., at WFED. The station is billed as "Federal News Radio," and caters to the large population of federal government workers in the D.C. area.

As of earlier this decade you would hear Jack Fox throughout many airports. He recorded announcements reminding folks of the use of walkways and other information. The "Airplane" fan in me wanted to hear:

"Listen Betty, don't start up with your white zone sh*t again."

He's still the "walkway warning" voice at Standiford Field/Louisville International Airport plus the prime voice guy at channel 41.
