I always thought "Ray" Gilmore was in the group the Spokesman, they had a few minor hits with Dawn of Correction and Michelle. I just checked the billboard top 100 book and looked under Spokesman, they have a member named "Roy" Gilmore, is this the one and the same jock.

Ray Gilmore was indeed in the group the Spokesman. Ray also worked in radio under the name Sean Casey.

The two Spokesman tunes received plenty of airplay in this area, in fact, I thought they were the only artists to record Michelle, not knowing the Beatles penned and performed it, until I heard it on WABC. Didn't another WIBBAGE jock, Bill Wright Sr. also have a minor hit with a remake of Wink Martindale's "Deck of Cards".

wait...wait...wait. I need some clarification here. 1st issue, When I worked for LLOYD ROACH.....and not IRA ROSENBLATT ( A man who will one day TANK WCOJ's reputation ) over at wcoj, Bill Wright Sr. used to voice some of the most horrific anti-abortion spots that I have ever heard. could this be the same guy? 2nd issue. WINK Martindale sings ???? THE Wink Martindale...from the OLD Tv game show Joker's Wild....That Wink Martindale???....the Gameshow Host???

Hey 3K-Rock, have you read the lyrics?I bolded some items of interest. The western world has a common dedicationTo keep free people from Red dominationAnd maybe you can't vote, boy, but man your battle stationsOr there'll be no need for votin' in future generationsSo over and over again, you keep sayin' it's the endBut I say you're wrong, we're just on the dawn of correctionThere are buttons to push in two mighty nationsBut who's crazy enough to risk annihilation? The buttons are there to ensure negotiationSo don't be afraid, boy, it's our only salvationSo over and over again, you keep sayin' it's the endBut I say you're wrong, we're just on the dawn of correctionYou tell me that marches won't bring integrationBut look what it's done for the voter registrationBe thankful our country allows demonstrationsInstead of condemnin', make some recommendationsI don't understand the cause of your aggravationYou mean to tell me, boy, it's not a better situation? So over and over again, you keep sayin' it's the endBut I say you're wrong, we're just on the dawn of correctionYou missed all the good in your evaluationWhat about the things that deserve commendation?Where there once was no cure, there's vaccinationWhere there once was a desert, there's vegetationSelf-government's replacing colonizationWhat about the Peace Corp. organization?Don't forget the work of the United NationsSo over and over again, you keep sayin' it's the endBut I say you're wrong, we're just on the dawn of correctionBut I say you're wrong, we're just on the dawn of correctionSo over and over again, you keep sayin' it's the endBut I say you're wrong, we're just on the dawn of correctionSorta centrist, eh?
