Old WVIZ "kids bookstore" show?

Does anyone remember a show that WVIZ produced in the 1970's about the staff of a children's bookstore and how they helped kids learn to read? I can only remember the theme song, which was a person whistling while a bass guitar and piano played.

Sorry to go off topic, but I remember when WVIZ had a gift shop at Southpark Center in Strongsville in its pre-Westfield days. I thought it was a cool store.

I don't remember the show you're asking about, but the bookstore topic got me to wonder about the store, which I think was the WVIZ World of Wonder if I am not mistaken.

I remember back in the day, TV 25 used to have a ton of those 15 minute shows on during the school day that teachers would sometimes show in class.

Then in the afterschool hours, would be the main PBS programming ("Sesame Street", "Mr. Rogers", "Electric Co.", etc.)

Don't recall the bookstore show in and of itself, but I know the kind of show you're talking about.

I remember one of my elementary school teachers showing a few episodes in class, well after the program had run its course.

Good find.

VIZ had all kinds of shows like that that would always have an "OCB" seal of approval at the end (Ohio Classroom Brodcasting or some such thing...)

I remember the few times I would see WVIZ out and about, before I had cable, There were a lot of classroom shows..I particularly liked the history shows..Showing some aspect of Ohio History. Interesting to watch, though the production values were'nt always up to par..

There was a black gentleman named Bob Cromie who was on Channel 25 all the time it seemed teaching a number of subjects..

This subject leads me to ask this..I remember in my research a program called "Ohio Story" which was on radio but also was a 10 minute TV series sponsored by Ohio Bell on stations all over the state..I've only seen one on YouTube..I would think more of them would be around..Would love to see more of them..

Yep, I remember going to the WVIZ Store of Knowledge a couple of times when I was little. I remember getting my picture taken there with Arthur when I was nine. I seriously doubt that store is still there today. I wonder what's in its place now.
