Oldest Extant Off-Air VHS/Beta Tape You Have

Spent much of today (a day off from work) looking at the 20 Beta tape lot out of the Mile High City today. Four tapes were rental duds as well as several tapes with limited pay TV promos (HBO, The Movie Channel, ON-TV), as well as a copy of The Day After that I've already got from a previous find, but the real highlights were a number of tapes recorded of stations from Sin City. Yes, pre-Mirage-era Vegas!

TAPE 1: Starts with the World Heavyweight Championship boxing fight between Mike Tyson and Tony Tucker, followed by Used Cars (1980) and the first 20 minutes of Tuff Turf (1984), taped off HBO on 8/1/1987 with a couple short promo breaks after each feature. Sony L-750, BIII mode

TAPE 2: An encore presentation of the 1985 HBO special Not So Great Moments In Sports, followed by Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (1985) and the first two-thirds of the HBO Comedy Hour starring Martin Mull, recorded off HBO on 8/25/1987 with promos after each feature. Scotch L-500, BIII mode

TAPE 3: The Out-Of-Towners (1970), the KVBC Movie With Gus Presentation (just two commercial breaks during the broadcast) followed by about the first half of the overnight rebroadcast of the KVBC 11 PM News from 2/28/1981 with commercials. Fuji L-500, BII mode

TAPE 4: ABC's one-hour Los Angeles Olympics post-games special recorded off KTNV on 8/13/1984 with commercials (this aired immediately following the Call To Glory premiere which was widely promoted throughout the Olympics), followed by part of the inaugural USFL game between the Philadelphia Stars and Denver Gold on 3/6/1983, starting just after the two minute warning and ending near the end of the third quarter, taken from an ABC C-Band broadcast with raw footage during the commercial breaks. Zenith L-500, BIII mode during the Olympics recap special, BII mode during the USFL excerpt.

TAPE 5: Primetime coverage of ABC's Statue of Liberty celebration also from ABC's C-Band feed on 7/4/1986 with commercials (except for black spots during the satellite portions), then it cuts the last few minutes of the New England-Denver and Miami-New York Jets NFL games, the NFL Live '84 mini-postgame show, College Football Report, Meet The Press, and about five minutes of CNN Headline News taped off KVBC/NBC on 11/4/1984 with commercials. Of course, typical Sunday late morning programming in ET/CT becomes late afternoon Sunday programming in PT as you may expect, but it's interesting seeing Walter Mondale's interview on MTP shortly before his landside defeat to Reagan. Scotch L-750, BIII mode

TAPE 6: The NBC Sunday Night At The Movies presentation of Return To Mayberry, the KVBC 11 PM News, George Michael Sports Machine, and approximately the first 80 minutes of the Silver Slipper (a nightclub in Vegas) Movie presentation of The Long, Long Trailer (1954), recorded off KVBC on 4/13/1986 with commercials. For the third time in 2025, I've found this same Andy Griffith reunion TV movie with commercials, first off WRC, then earlier this month off KWWL, but I'm glad this also includes the ensuing newscast and GMSM, Dupont PDMagnetics L-750, BIII mode

TAPE 7: Top Rank boxing featuring several bouts, leading up the main event between Sugar Ray Leonard and the Marvelous Marvin Hangler, taped off an unknown Denver station on 4/6/1987 with commercials. Scotch L-750, BIII mode

TAPE 8: Begins with an NFL films presentation entitled "A Team Together", chronicling the 1983 Denver Broncos, taped off KOA circa 1985 with some commercials, followed by about the last 35 minutes of St. Elsewhere, the KVBC 11 PM News, and most of The Tonight Show recorded off KVBC/NBC on 11/7/1984 with commercials. Sony L-500, BIII mode

TAPE 9: The complete 1983 USFL Championship Game, including intro, commercials, halftime, postgame, and closing, followed by about the first 20 minutes of KTNV's Bowler Derby (local bowling show), taped off KTNV/ABC on 7/17/1983 with commercials (some really good local ones that provide an "Old Vegas" vibe, too!) Scotch L-750, BIII mode

TAPE 10: Late Night With David Letterman and about the first 37 minutes of NBC News Overnight, recorded off KVBC/NBC on 7/28-7/29/1982 with commercials. My earliest LNDL find along with my first of NBC's short-lived overnight news service featuring Lloyd Dobyns and Linda Ellerbee that attempted to compete with a still-fledging CNN. Sony L-250, BIII mode.

TAPE 11: Not too long ago, I found a tape with about 15 minutes worth of footage from the Denver Broncos post-Super Bowl XXI parade taken off KUSA and KOA. This tape starts off with about 100 minutes worth and includes a little KMGH coverage as well, although whenever one station goes to commercial, there is a channel change. The season finale of The Dan Reeves show from the following week (1/31/1987) off I believe KOA with commercials follows, then it cuts to two partial episodes and a full episode of Civilization And The Jews recorded off KRMA/PBS circa October 1984 with a few promos. Sonly L-750, BIII mode.

Hopefully, those who purchased the other eight lots, especially the buyer who snatched the final five found some really good stuff, especially given that those two tapes with likely 1980s People's Court material possibly could of had some interesting daytime/early evening programming on them. Keep in mind that Las Vegas' DMA size went from 122 in 1981 to 96 in 1986, so despite its rapid rise, it wasn't until around the mid-'90s that it began to be considered a large market. Next week should be that little Macon, GA lot.

These are some terrific TV recordings, Michael. I have never found NBC News Overnight and probably never will - KNDO Yakima didn't clear it as they would sign off after Letterman; same with Q6 in Spokane. None of the Vegas stuff I found earlier this summer was as old as your finds.

The Vegas growth reminds me of Boise. It was market #128 as of 1988. Now, it's #98 and growing rapidly. Every piece of open land is being bought out to construct new housing developments, especially in Nampa and outlying areas of Caldwell.

That 12 VHS lot from Macon came in quicker than expected, so I've checked all day for another good lot. The seller mentioned that the tapes came from thrift stores in the area. As it turns out based on the recordings, the seller lived in the West Point, GA/Valley, AL area based on some of the finds, and most broadcast recordings were out of the Columbus, GA market, with one tape containing content off of a Montgomery station. Quite fitting since there's a big college football game going on even as we speak between two SEC powerhouses. As expected, three of the tapes were Golden Book releases (A Child's First Nursery Songs, Working With Words, and Working With Numbers). There was also a sleeveless retail copy of Club Fed (1990) from Prism Entertainment, including a smiley Be Kind, Rewind sticker on the tape. Another tape turned out to be a master copy of two political ads for U.S. Senate running mate Walter Clark (not familiar with him). But the remaining seven tapes were all keepers, and there were some good finds in this lot like yesterday's.

TAPE 1: The last few minutes of How The Grinch Stole Christmas, followed by A Christmas Story (1983) taped off TBS on 12/9/1992 with commercials. Polaroid T-120, SP mode

TAPE 2: Reba: Starting Over, the WRBL 11 PM News, and nearly three-fourths of The Late Show David Letterman taped off WRBL/CBS on 11/25/1995 with commercials. Scotch Performance High Grade T-160, SP mode

TAPE 3: Starts off with about the last 45 minutes of Soul Mates recorded off TNN in February 1997 with commercials, followed by the last 13 minutes of CNN Talkback Live from 2/11/1997 with a few commercials, followed by about the last 55 minutes of The Paper Chase (1974), The New American Dream: Home Business infomercial, and part of the NCAA basketball game between Wake Forest and Missouri (ends around the eight-minute mark in the first half) recorded off WTVM/ABC on 2/9/1997 with commercials, then it jumps to a portion of Game 3 of the 1996 NLDS between the Colorado Rockies and Atlanta Braves (parts of the 5th and 6th innings) off WTVM/ABC on 10/6/1996 with a few commercials. Scotch Performance High Grade T-160, EP mode

TAPE 4: Another copy of Reba: Starting Over (family must have been big fans of Ms. McIntire) also recorded off WRBL/CBS on 11/25/1995 with commercials, followed by Travis Tritt: Going Home recorded off The Disney Channel on 12/5/1995 with free preview promos before and after the special, followed by about the last 20 minutes of Home Improvement, Hiller and Diller, and about the first seven minutes of NYPD Blue taped off WTVM/ABC on 10/7/1997 with commercials. My first find of this short-lived sitcom that was pounced in the ratings by Just Shoot Me and didn't last a whole season. Memorex T-120, EP mode

TAPE 5: Cocoon (1985), Sweet Dreams (1985), and Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (1985) copied from rentals, followed by about the last 16 minutes of the 1983 West Point, GA Christmas Parade taped off an unknown independent station circa December 1983 with a few commercials (public access cable, given the relatively rural area?), followed by the last nine minutes of ABC News 20/20 and the first five minutes of the WTVM 11 PM News taped on 3/24/1983 with a few commercials, followed by about 23 minutes of Dynasty from around the middle of the episode taped off WTVM/ABC on 3/23/1983 with two commercial breaks. BASF T-120, EP mode

TAPE 6: Starts with a brief clip of some country music band taped off an unknown station, followed by most of How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Frosty, The Snowman recorded off WRBL/CBS on 11/28/1988 with commercials (I've already got this off W*USA from a trade), followed by most of the ABC Sunday Night Movie world premiere presentation of Yes Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus followed by about the first ten minutes of the WTVM 11 PM News from 12/8/1991 with commercials, then it cuts to about 22 minutes of what turned out to be the final episode of Sonny Spoon taped off WSHA/NBC on 12/16/1988 with a couple commercial breaks, followed by about an hour's worth of a cable advertising bulletin board with a mixture of some adult contemporary music from the 1970s/80s (The Carpenters, George Michael, Whitney Houston, and Paul McCartney are among the artists featured with no DJs or station IDs), with mostly Chambers County, AL, Troop and Harris counties, GA advertising featured. Wal-Mart T-120, EP mode

TAPE 7: After a somewhat unnerving start with a political talk show partly taping over a certain special, The tape with the "Solid Gold 1982" label certainly delivered! Begins with a one-hour political race taken of Valley, AL's channel 6 circa October 1990 with commercials, (a local cable station, so this may be one of a kind given the rural community), then it joins WRBL for some awesome late night music programming: approximately the last half of the Solid Gold Countdown '82 special (I received a copy of the full special recorded off KGW in a trade last January), a regular episode of Solid Gold (a Grammy Salute episode which I don't believe circulates yet), followed by an episode from The Best Of Midnight Special (I've got part of this off WDIV already), America's Top 10 with Casey Kasem (featuring a pre-MTV appearance of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" video), a religious Thought For Today and the sign-off, recorded on 2/19-20/1983 with commercials. Scotch T-120, EP mode.

The station is actually WSFA in Montgomery. Which is my local NBC affiliate. Montgomery is under represented on YouTube. Hopefully there will be more of Montgomery from the 80ssoon. Looking forward to seeing this stuff on YouTube.

Great stuff Pannoni! What is the run time on that USFL Championship out of curiosity? I hear that there is a big project going on right now where a guy who is trying to start a USFL archive has access to ALL the USFL master broadcasts and is slowly converting them all to digital. We are talking about 100s of games per year.

It's around 4 hours and 15 minutes. Of course, nothing like local Las Vegas commercials during the local spots instead of just dead air during the local portions of the commercial breaks. I did notice that USFL post from earlier in this thread, and I'm glad its coming through to cover an invaluable period of pro football history. I'll probably wait until next summer to convert it since I'll be intent towards adding NFL (and a few college games) as well as college basketball over the next six months to my archives and prefer to convert recordings seasonally, and that includes a couple more Super Bowls with commercials that I hauled from an online lot last year. That game features the then current #1 hit, "Every Breath You Take" by the Police during the closing credits.

Great stuff, your copy is probably even longer than what they have in the archive, and the commercials are a bonus too. Any of the ESPN broadcasts the commercials were not recorded as it seems like they were studio masters where the local commercial inserts were not added, so just blank screen for 2-3 minutes.

*CAN A DREAM COME TRUE?*

Breaking news: I just bought 13 L-750/830 Beta tapes from eBay. They are from GLENDIVE, MONTANA!!! I am praying for no disappointments in this lot. Could I finally, after 10+ years of digitizing and buying recorded VHS/Betas, find some classic, one-of-a-kind airchecks from KXGN?! I paid $36+ with shipping and they arrive next week. The seller said he found them locally in Dawson County too......

Stay tuned!

If anyone in the Detroit area happens to be reading through this thread, starting tomorrow (10/2) is an estate sale in Wyandotte with all kinds of media. Not just VHS tapes, but also Betamax tapes, cassette tapes, 8-track tapes, CDs, DVDs (some of them appear to be DVD+Rs/DVD-Rs) and even reel-to-reel tapes. Based on the merchandise I'm seeing in these photos, it looks like the homeowner was a Detroit Police officer and a Marine Corps veteran. Looks like quite a treasure trove!

As for me, some of you may or may not remember me mentioning my mom's friend some years ago passing along tapes from his gigantic VHS collection on to me little by little. It's been three years since he sent me anything, but he does have more and he sent me quite a few more recently that I've been slowly looking through. More on those findings later.

Just got the Beta tapes from Glendive. To be shocked is an understatement. I have been waiting my entire life to find something like this. Here's a 1980s station ID from KXGN as a preview. STAY TUNED!! Some of the tapings are as early as *1982* 😲 😲 😲

Here's the results of a Betamax lot of a lifetime!

Tape 1 - Part of 'Sleep My Love' (1948) taped off CBN on 5/17/1984 with commercials (Oldest find yet from CBN!); cuts to part of The Young and the Restless taped off KXGN/CBS in May 1984 with commercials, but cuts off before local advertising at the top of the hour; partial episode of Days of Our Lives taped off KUMV/NBC (no doubt via K13PL, the local Glendive translator) on 5/14/1982 with commercials...and so it begins, the best finds of 2025 and some of the best off-air TV recordings I've ever found in over a decade of collecting home-recorded VHS and Betas. Then it cuts to the Miss USA Pageant (hosted by the late Bob Barker) taped off *KXGN/CBS* on 5/13/1982 with commercials!!!; ends with a few minutes of a 60 Minutes episode circa April 1982. TDK L-750
Tape 2 - Episode of Houston Knights taped off KXGN/CBS on 10/6/1987 with commercials; partial episode of Houston Knights taped off the CBS C-Band feed on 10/13/1987 with commercials (black screen in local break); cuts to part of the True Value Open (PBA Fall Tour, bowling) taped off KUMV/NBC on 11/7/1987 with commercials; early episode of The Bold and the Beautiful taped off KXGN/CBS on 11/20/1987 with commercials (including a hokey, low-budget local break!); episode of Hunter taped off KUMV/NBC (via K13PL) on 11/14/1987 with commercials; part of "The Body Snatcher" (1945) taped off American Movie Classics on Halloween 1987 with promos and Bob Dorian segments; cuts to a very snowy and weak broadcast of Jake and the Fatman taped off KXGN/CBS in October 1987 with commercials (not pulling this off); partial broadcast of CBS Reports taped off KXGN/CBS on 7/29/1987 with commercials, but with plenty of interference, most likely E-skip related; partial broadcast of It Figures with Charlene Prickett taped off Cable Health Network (now Lifetime) circa 1983 with one commercial break. Sony L-830
Tape 3 - An incredible find, may or may not be in university archives. It's the Montana State-Montana rivalry football game, taped off KXGN-5 on 10/29/1983 with commercials. MANY local ads, all low-budget and very few graphics. During the pause for station ID, there's a brief KUTV-2 SLC ID before KXGN's local ID (so they must have been using the microwave link). Also has most of "Gray Lady Down" (1978) taped off unknown pay-TV channel. Sony L-830
Tape 4 - Vintage bowling, with the 1983 BPAA US Open (hosted by Chris Schenkel) taped off the ABC C-Band feed on 4/2/1983 with commercials. Telstar 301 hadn't been launched yet, but ABC's network feed was on Westar 4 at that time. Then cuts to the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship (USC vs. Louisiana Tech), and part of the Hector Camacho-Irleis Perez fight taped off the CBS C-Band feed (via Westar 5) on Easter 1983 with commercials. Sony L-830
Tape 5 - Partial episode of I Dream of Jeannie and first few minutes of Bewitched taped off WTBS circa July 1986 with commercials; cuts to an unwatchable broadcast of Sins (part 3) taped off KXGN/CBS on 2/4/1986 with commercials; rest of tape is recorded static. Sony L-830
Tape 6 - Full CBS primetime lineup and the best news find I've ever made: Airwolf, Mike Hammer, and Cover Up taped off KXGN/CBS on 11/24/1984 with commercials, followed by part of the KXGN MTN News with Terry Kegley! Then cuts to part of KX-13 Eyewitness News (via KXMD-11 Williston) and the ABC News Weekend Report taped 1/28/1984 with commercials; ends with about 45 minutes of an unknown Australian-based play, probably taped from ARTS. Sony L-830
Tape 7 - More vintage bowling: the 1983 Greater Hartford Open and part of Wide World of Sports taped off ABC (C-Band feed) on 4/9/1983 with commercials. Sony L-830, blank after about 2 hours and 10 min.
Tape 8 - Classic Nickelodeon starts this tape: an episode of Danger Mouse and You Can't Do That On Television taped on 7/26/1986 with commercials; partial broadcast of PBA Bowling (Hammer Open from Oklahoma) taped off ESPN on 7/23/1986 with commercials; last 15 minutes of "Blind Justice" (1986) and part of the CBS Sunday Night News taped off KXGN/CBS on 3/16/1986 with commercials; partial episode of The Young and the Restless taped off KXGN/CBS circa May 1985 with commercials; partial broadcast of Space (part 3) taped off KXGN/CBS on 4/15/1985 with commercials (I have this from KIMA, but what a thrill to find this from market #210!!) Sony L-830, most in Beta III, the 3/16/86 recording was in Beta-II.
Tape 9 - Several episodes of It Figures with Charlene Prickett taped off Cable Health Network in late December 1982 with commercials! Oldest find from what is now Lifetime!
Tape 10 - Another Montana sports find here, with the 1982 Montana-MSU rivalry game taped off the Montana State University community access station on 10/30/1982. Again, I don't know if either college has this in the archives, so maybe I'll be contacting the libraries! Sony L-830
Tape 11 - 2-hour season premiere of Magnum P.I. taped off KXGN/CBS on 10/1/1986 with commercials (including a local news promo and more); end of Miami Vice and a good chunk of the Meyer Television News taped off KUMV/NBC on 9/26/1986 with commercials; about half of "Firstborn" (1984) and "Flying Down to Rio" (1933) taped off SelecTV on 9/8/1986 with promos. Sony L-830
Tape 12 - Starts with about 40 minutes of scrambled video and weak audio (turns out it's an unknown program on The Playboy Channel circa 1984); cuts to part of "Will There Really Be a Morning?" (1983) taped off KXGN/CBS on 7/10/1984 with commercials!!!; episode of This is Your Life with Joe Campanella and the CBS Evening News with Bill Kurtis (joined in progress) taped off KXGN/CBS on 6/10/1984 with commercials...I believe this is my oldest CBS Evening News find to date; part of "Sleep My Love" (1948) taped from CBN on 5/17/1984 with commercials (very unusual - this was found on tape #1, and tape does run out, so they must have used the other tape to finish it). TDK L-750
A 13th tape has a copy of a 1981 tape called Beat the Dealer, a 3-hour program on tips to win at blackjack. Nothing else after the tapes run out.

I have no doubts that this farmer, or rancher, or somebody with some money in Glendive, was probably one of a handful (or seldom few) in the entire county with a Betamax VCR. The fact that I found ANYTHING from KXGN is a dream come true, one that has taken more than a decade to accomplish. But to find 1982-1984-era KXGN?!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I don't find 1982-84 era Yakima TV that often, let alone the sole television station in a market that has more cattle than humans.
Scanning through every tape was a thrill that I normally don't get from the larger-market finds. No glitzy graphics, no Cal Worthington, no Crazy Eddie. These were mom-and-pop retailers and insurance agents who got time on the station. I found ads for the Beach ND Community Days and an auction happening in another ND town. Additionally, I frequently see commercials for a satellite TV retailer (with the large dishes). I don't have to ask why...
Life in Glendive must have been super laid-back.

Tape 2 - Episode of Houston Knights taped off KXGN/CBS on 10/6/1987
Wow, that’s a long forgotten show. Source of much amusement at the time for those of us in Houston with its inaccurate portrayals of the city, particularly showing oil refineries where they don’t actually exist, to freeways being blocked by herds of cattle, which has never happened in my 40 years here.

The series starred Michael Beck, who may be better known as the romantic interest of Olivia Newton-John in the movie Xanadu.

7/26/1986 three days after I was born!

I have about a dozen episodes already (via KPIX San Francisco). Thanks to a very kind YouTuber, the series is available for free viewing. Michael Pare also starred in the series, coming off his Streets of Fire fame.

One of the KXGN IDs has about seven or eight translators listed. Circle, Culbertson, and Baker were a few communities. (Baker is on US-12 and is home to country station KFLN-AM 960, and classic rocker KJJM-FM 100.5).

Great results again, crainbebo. I've found the TV movie premiere as well as about three-fourths of the finale of Houston Knights, with the finale pre-empted with local election returns off KCBS. I've also got that Airwolf episode off KCBS from that huge lot in 2020, but I've never found a full episode of Cover Up. Early It Figures episodes should be a treat as well, even though I found six episodes many years ago, but they were from 1987.

I just hunted a lot of 16 VHS tapes from Warwick, RI, and the results, while hardly a skunk, were nowhere nearly as impressive as yours. The recorder seemingly LOVED Charles Branson with about three-fourths of the tapes featued a movie starring him, with multiple copies of a couple movies (some of the Death Wish movies in particular). Still, I managed to find an episode of Another World and Maury Povich (about miracles) off WJAR on 11/21/1995 with commercials, the CBS TV movie premiere presentations of A Family Of Cops and A Family Of Cops III from 11/26/1995 and 1/12/1999 off WPRI, with a broadcast of A Violation of Trust (1991) from November 1995 off WSBK rounding out that tape, a partial episode of An Evening At The Improv off A&E on 1/15/1994 with commercials with the same tape featuring about 15 minutes of footage off C-SPAN 2 from summer 1993 covering the Midwestern floods, Donato & Daughter taped off WLNE/CBS on 9/21/1993 with commercials, Reaching From The Sky one of TNT's first original shows taped in February 1989 with few commercials on part one and all commercials on the second with the tape ending with a partial Road To Nowhere infomercial and a partial episode of The World Tomorrow taped off WNEV in February 1989 winding that tape up, and one more tape featuring recordings of Death Wish (1974) and The Mechanic (1972) taped off WLVI in February/March 1988 with commercials. And started off with Rambo: First Blood (1985) taped off The Movie Channel with poor video contrast and continued with Beverly Hills Madam (1986) taped off WFXT on 7/17/1991 with commercials and Mayflower Madam (1987) taped off Lifetime on 7/24/1991 with commercials. One tape featured the last few minutes of Another World from Memorial Day 1987 off WJAR with a few commercials and an NBC News Digest report. Another featured a recording of Telefon (1977) off TBS on 7/20/1988 with commercials and ended with a posthumous October 2003 airing of Biography off A&E to cover Charles Bronson's life. One tape featured four Hallmark movies from the 2010 holiday season (ewwwww) including The Night Before The Night Before Christmas, and another tape featured airings of Death Wish II, III, and IV off AMC on 1/15/2008 with commercials, with a frequent in-movie bumper of Breaking Bad, showing that the channel was going up that shark jumpin' ski ramp. Sorry, but once that AMC logo changed from a diamond to a rectangle with a lower case "amc", that was it for me.

Also, a number of tapes featured Showtime and The Movie Channel recordings were the color contrast was poor, and I wonder if the cable provider had its own version of copy protection by forcing the picture to be nearly unwatchable.

Continuing the streak are eight VHS tapes found at an estate sale in Yakima and another estate/yard sale in Selah. Some really nice finds here:

Tape 1 - The first third of this tape was erased. Following the erased part: partial broadcast of Will You Marry Me?, Home Improvement, Grace Under Fire, and a partial broadcast of Peter Jennings Reporting: House on Fire taped off KAPP/ABC on 7/27/1994 with commercials (weak signal over-the-air, but in color); partial episode of Melrose Place taped off K68EB/Fox on 4/27/1994 with commercials; partial broadcast of In a New Light (AIDS special) taped off KXLY/ABC on 7/10/1992 with commercials. Master T-120
Tape 2 - "A Night to Remember" (1954) and "Anne of Green Gables" (1934) taped off American Movie Classics on 12/14/1986 with a Bob Dorian segment; George Michael Sports Machine best plays of 1992; then back to AMC for most of "Blood on the Sun" (1940) and about an hour of "Flying Leathernecks" (1951) with another Bob Dorian intershow. JVC T-120
Tape 3 - A full 4-hour "let it run" with an episode of ER, News 23 Late Edition, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien and a 1:35AM sign-off taped off KNDO/NBC on 1/5-6/1995 with commercials. Memorex T-120
Tape 4 - "Cocktail" (1988) taped off Showtime in 1989 with about a minute of promos before; "Three Men and a Baby" (1987), "Beverly Hills Cop II" (1987) and part of "Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life is Calling" (1986) taped off Showtime on 11/27/1989 with promos in between the first 2 films. Memorex T-120
Tape 5 - Starts with the Apple Cup game between the Washington Huskies and Washington State Cougars in a very snowy Pullman, and a few minutes of the Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show, taped off KAPP/ABC on 11/21/1992 with commercials; partial preseason NFL game between the L.A. Raiders and Dallas Cowboys taped off KAPP/ABC on 8/12/1991 with commercials. BASF T-120
Tape 6 - The Seahawks Postgame Show and most of Eyewitness News at 5 taped off KIRO-7 on 11/7/1999 with commercials (following their win over the Bengals), then a channel flip to KONG-16 for about 1/2 hour of Access Hollywood Weekend with commercials. TDK T-120
Tape 7 (Selah tape) - "Felicity: An American Girl Adventure" (2005) taped off WB100+ (KWYP Cable 21) on 11/29/2005 with commercials. Fuji T-120, SP Hi-Fi. This is only my second find from the cable service!
Tape 8 - Return to the Kingbowl (local special on the 1986 West Valley Rams football team) taped off KAPP-35 in early December 1986 (prior to the game on 12/6) with commercials; Kingbowl Wrapup special (WVHS loses to Tumwater) and What a Country! taped off KAPP-35 on 12/12/1986 with commercials. RCA T-120

Crainbebo, I would definitely contact this guy on Youtube:

He posted a few Montana St games from 1982 but apparently not the games against Montana, so that is quite a find! You should definitely digitize those 1982 and 1983 Montana-Montana St games as I'm sure there will be an audience for them on Archive.org
