Sorry Chris these guys stink. They sound like they dont even want to be there most of the time, they know dick about classic rock (even going as far as trashing bands played on the station, not good practice IMO) They are completely lost as far as what the audience cares about, anytime I tune in I hear talk about where britney spears had dinner or this ghost hunting nonsense. Traffic is done like every 5 minutes, not sure if thats their decision or not but if they were any good that would probably be nixed since its a Rock Format and traffics not a huge issue in Suffolk. They sound like they can barely read sometimes during the live commercials. I could go on.....back to the issue...... Informative? Maybe. but these guys should be much more local. Its 2009. Everythings on the internet and if people want national/regional stuff they aint tuning in to these two to hear about it. Funny? Not when I tune in and I"ll admit thats 30 mins a week or less, but Im never amused. The forced fake laughing and clapping at the end of segments doesnt count. Im sure they're nice guys but they're out of their element. There are 15 better options on Morning radio.
Good! I'm glad someone finally stepped up to say what they thought. I asked that question 6 months ago, and you can clearly see by the thread here that you're the only one who responded. Like I've said before, different people have different tastes so I'm not looking to bash anyone because they don't like the show. However, I would like to make a recommendation, if I may, which I will get to in a bit.
The Britney stuff you've heard is part of only one segment that airs around 8:40 called Celebrity Scoop.. granted you totally have a point that the information is all over the internet but I'm not so sure that everyone in the listening audience has a computer or even bothers to look stuff like that up. I want to say that it could be a good thing for those people.
Traffic, you totally have a point about and it's not their decision to do traffic so often. In fact, I'm pretty positive that if it were up to them they definitely wouldn't run it as often as they currently do.
I also wanted to give you my opinion on the beginning of your statement. While you may be right about them sometimes sounding like they don't want to be there, Dave knows his stuff about classic rock. I gotta stick up for him cause I know he definitely knows the music.. very well might I add. Glenn on the other hand, yes, does make fun of the music sometimes but if you know the show you know that Glenn has an affinity for bad 80's music, for example the B-52's are like his favorite band ever. As far as the ghost hunting thing, that's what they're into. You can't slight them for that. Maybe it's not what you're into, but again we all have different tastes.
My only suggestion would be to check out the show earlier if there were any possibility that you could. It seems like you're catching the tail end of the show when things start going haywire and you're basing your entire opinion on just that part of the show. There's a lot more to the show than just the end. And hey, if you don't want to, that's your thing. I'm not here to preach.
