It's not on Thursdays anymore. Two Thursdays ago, they were doing their week-long "Oldies A to Z" special.

Beginning this past week, they are no longer live during that shift. They're now running the syndicated Tom Kent show weeknights 7-10 PM.

It remains to be heard this morning whether they will still do the Countdown 7-9 AM Saturdays, the slot in which the Thursday night Countdown used to be rebroadcast.

Top 20 countdown returns on Saturday Oct 4th 7 AM to 9 AM live with Patrick Callahan.

I AGREE! Now if we could only hear Mauzy Stafford and Steve York on, too! I heard Mauzy a few Saturday's ago and she sounded great. I haven't heard Steve in ages, on Oldies or Mix. He was always fun to listen to. Does anyone know what happened to the both of them?

As I've said on the other Oldies thread, I think Mauzy will still be around. In case you didn't know, Mauzy was cut by Westwood One's Metro Traffic division so she no longer does the traffic on the morning show. She was on 2 Saturdays ago for 4 hours but was not on this past weekend. She remains on the Oldies website so I'm hoping she returns for a regular shift. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Saturdays 7 AM to 9 AM.Why don't you just put dirt on it and completely bury it? And instead you run this syndicated loser Kent weeknights? This experiment, based solely on the pursestrings, will happily blow up on Jay Beau Jones' face.Phenomenal job,Jay Blow. Now when do the endless XMas songs start on 103.3FM? In October perhaps ? Wouldn't want the fall foliage to be over before I hear the Beach Boys doing a Christmas Classic !! Your budgetminded station makes me want to explore XM and other pay radio stations.

I always liked steve York. I thought he was a bit generic but always sounded good. I have to disagree regarding Mauzy. I never cared for her sound. I always thought her voice was very irritating and I think many times she talk too much. IMO.

If Kent's trying to start a crusade to end boring radio, he's failing very badly in my opinion. We live in Boston, we want to hear local people play the music, not listen to some clown talking to a framer from Omaha Nebraska every night or Walla Walla Washington for that matter. Put him on late at night when we're all asleep or something then if you want to put him on the station. He does nothing for me.

lol!!! My opinion is that Mauzy sounds fabulous! I've been listening to her since she was on WCOZ . You probably were listening to someone else. They do have other women on the air, you know. Or is your "opinion" that all women sound alike?

Emily...not cool at all. Just because someone has an opinion different from yours is NO reason to start playing the gender card. People disagree...live with it.
I know many female DJ's...some are great and some, well, aren't.

I agree with Emily. I don't think she's being uncool at all. How many times have you heard someone refer to a man's voice as "irritating"? (By the way, I may be showing my age here but that was the old-school excuse for not putting women on the air during the '60s and early 70's. Have we not progressed beyond that?)

What I've always found interesting is the "wannabes" who feel compelled to pass judgment on those who are actually out there doing it. Try being on the air in a major market and see how well you do. On that note - Steve York sounds "generic". What does that mean other than someone feeling the need to find fault? He was on two major stations here in Boston - Mix & Oldies. Most people are lucky to get on just one!

So before you accuse others of being irritating or playing gender cards - think before you write! Could you honestly do what these radio people do, day in and day out? If it sounds easy then that's a testament to their talent.

I assume this post isn't directed at me. I've never referred to anyone as irritating nor do I criticize other jocks work publicly. And my 25 years in Radio in 2 Top 10 markets hardly makes me a wannabe.

No, this post was by no means directed at you! So sorry if I inferred that it was.
