Oldies 103: Jimmy Del Ponte gone from morning show??

So while I have been listening to Oldies 103 more and more lately (and I'm listening right now), I have not heard Uncle Dale and the morning show since the day they went all Christmas.

I just happened to check their website and noticed two things:

1) Their "Just played" box still calls Oldies "Boston's Holiday Music Station" (Maybe they are planning a REALLY early flip for 2008 ;D )

2) Jimmy Del Ponte's bio is gone from the bio page for the jocks. It's just Uncle Dale, June Knight and Mauzy Stafford for the morning show.

Anyone know what happened to Jimmy??

Jimmy Del Ponte is/was the comic/voice guy for the morning show....basically, the same thing as Tom Doyle is to Loren and Wally on WROR.

Hello.. It's me Jimmy Del Ponte!! My contract was up, and I was Layed -off. They decided to remove the funny stuff from the show so , I was shown the door. Thanks to a decent severence, I will probably lay low for a while. It was a little stressful over there at Oldies. I went up and hung out with Matty and Billy last week over at Kiss. I am enjoying driving my kids to school, and not having to get up at 3:30 am. Comedy can be very stressful so I am digging the rest. I did a piano bar gig last week, and was asked to run a theatre arts and music program for Somerville kids. The classy folks at CBS kept my destiny a secret while my future was dangled over speculation. They took my bits off the air , yet noone had the stones to tell me ehat was going on. Thats what you get for being a loyal employee. Any way, keep your ears open Boston, because I'll be turning up somewhere soon !!!

It's being reported across the country of lots of CBS layoffs.

My best wishes to everyone in Boston. Hope the axe doesn't swing your way.

Good luck Jim. You'll land on your feet.

Hey Jimmy, miss you in the morning, but all the best to you whatever you do, and enjoy your time to breathe and relax a bit now in-between!
