Oldies 107 FM

Has anyone heard a new station at 107.7 FM called Oldies 107 ? I heard it the other day in Bridgewater and just wondered if anyone else has been able to get it. I never heard call letters or where they're located, but they sure played a great mix of music. It was an unusual variety. Everything from Jackson Browne to Michael Jackson, Boston to Bread...but it's great. I heard songs I haven't heard in years. Just wondered if anyone else has heard them.

Well, it's one of the following:

1) You were using an analog radio and inadvertantly tuned in 107.3 from Richmond...they sound similar to what you're saying

2) It's a very low-powered (part 15) or pirate station

3)You tuned in a 107.7 from quite a ways a way...that happens a lot in the valley. More than likely, though, you probably would have tuned in WTWP, a news station in Warrenton...comes in marginally up there.

4) You tuned in a station from Northern WVa called Sunny 107.7

If you can tell us more, do so. Inquiring minds like to know. Was the signal strong? Where did the signal fade? Any call letters? Any advertisments? Any announcer names?

I was not on an analog radio and it was definitely 107.7. Not a news station, though. They were playing music (5 in a row). Pretty sure it wasn't Sunny 107 unless they made some recent changes.

If you listened for awhile and you never heard call letters or city /town ID , then sounds like someone is having fun in the basement with some type low-powered transmitter . Did it sound profesional or was it kinda rag tag radio ???

What I heard sounded pretty good. I thought it might be a test program for a new station because of the lack of commercials. If it is indeed a Part 15 (low power basement station), it was well done. Might actually be, though, because the signal was weak.

There is a station in Charlottesville at 107.5 FM that you would prob catch in Bridgewater , but they are MIX 107 FM and the format is different than what you are describing ! They are more MaDonna and 90's music .
