WIP has passionate listeners, but the reality is they were barely top 20 in the last overall ratings. If WPEN can manage to pick up a few shares of WIP listeners, will we have a battle of two 'major' AMs struggling to break the top 20? I know it's all about the male demos, but WIP's staff is getting older and WPEN has always sounded old, so I'm not sure the city can support 2 sports stations, even though I agree the oldies format wasn't working and some change was necessary. Just not sure a copycat sports format is the best choice.
