Oldies 98.9

Amazing songs they are playing tonight 9-1-2013, called "Cruising across America".............Classic Americana RADIO AT IS EPIC BEST....................

You know what's even more amazing? BRENT's obsession with periods after his sentences.

It is called an Ellipsis, I am using it to trail a thought that may or may not have reached conclusion. Thank you............Now continue your ignorance.

An ellipsis is only 3 periods. Claiming otherwise while calling others ignorant might make you look...

Well, you know.

Wow I guess you looked that up on Wikipedia....Bravo... I certainly know that.

"The period may properly be placed at the end of a sentence.
. . . The ellipsis may then be placed on the following line, indicating the omission of an intervening sentence." I am over ellipsissing...EXCUSE ME...

Coming back from North Georgia (Clayton) Monday was getting (I think) Magic 98.9 out of Spartanburg,SC til I985 south, then at some point Oldies 98.9 started breaking in. BTW, Magic 98.9 plays "Today's Lite Rock" and it's at 98.9, caller10 likes!

Fine with me. I loved diagramming sentences! (But I miss inline smileys!)

Lets hope they're selling enough spots to pay the electric bill.

250W of transmitter, a satellite downlink, and no talent isn't much.
The spot load has to be setting a record for any of the Cumulus translator formats.

I have noticed a large number of PSA's mixing in with the commercials on 98.9. I have worked with at three stations that had a satellite service for overnights and weekends. My personal experience was the software for filling the breaks was not perfect on any stystem i worked with. These were different systems so I assume that what I experienced might be a common issue with a lot of Commercial log generating programs for satellite stations. All three would open up breaks just for one commercial, then it would fill the rest of the 3 or 3 and half minutes with station promos and PSA's. I would routinely look at the log check and see a break opened up with one or two revenue spots. Then I would look at the next break and find the same thing. Quite often there were no conflicting or competing sponsors and I could put the revenue commercials in one break and let the 3 or 3 and let the other "timed" song play. I doubt if any corporate owner would actually expense an hour for a human to check the commercial log.

It's funny. Sometimes they have 2-3 revenue spots in a set, sometimes it's all PSAs. But this seems to be better than a lot of the other Cumulus translator formats, which always seemed to be two PSAs and a SweetJack spot.
