Oldies battle in Albany, NY!

This rarely happens anymore but there are now two FM Oldies stations in Albany, NY. About a month ago, 96.7-WPTR flipped from contemporary christian to Oldies, challenging established 98.3-WTRY with a deeper and some what older playlist and a better signal. The True Oldies Channel is also in the market on the AM band on 1240-WVKZ...

That's amazing today. Wish we had that situation in Chicago.

My old-fart memory goes back to the day of the "battle of the bands" (musically speaking, of course). And now we hear of "battle of the bands" (AM broadcast bands). Wow, like to hear this in my market. 8)

Unfortunately the powers that be don't think that us "old farts" buy anything.

To be specific, they don't think we buy anything that we haven't already been buying for years. We have lost the gullibility of youth and Madison Avenue, which preys on the stupid as a matter of course, knows they can't sell trendy new junk or old junk in a trendy new package to us. They're right.
