larry patrick communications is the trustee of the border media stations and simmons and others. they just sold border media stations in laredo and rio grande valley. to the same company mbm revolution-roberto gonzles.

Keep in mind, they were sold as a cluster.

And believe all BMP stations in Austin and San Antonio will be sold as cluster and not individually.

KXXS was just sold to EMF.

this is just the thing keeping the actual radio pros from giving their input, believing EMF and UT are one in the same

And as of now, two posts from people who failed to see the point (or the subtle irony) of the statement...as it went right over their heads.

Well we are a serious - literal bunch 8)

That's why when I type a sarcastic statement, I clearly identify it as such.

For example if I don't like the change a station has made I might say:

I feel the ratings rising already (sarcasm intended.)

UT-Austin dba EMF? ;D

No two totally seperate entities. EMF is out of California.

Jeez, I know, please! Sorry, I couldn't find the sarcastathon smiley!

Anyway, I can't help but think our OP may have actually had news of this sale, yet it somehow got mangled/made up/whatever into the UT thing.

Well, regardless of who said what or what happened, I really hope the oldies format continues...and is even expanded with more locals. But I'm not confident that will happen. Doesn't EMF just do that K-LOVE stuff, and nothing else?

Yes they just do K-LOVE and Air 1, according to their website.

I'm almost certain EMF won't buy 98.9 unless they were really dumb, or unless they're planning to sell 91.9 and 92.1. They've got enough for both K-Love and Air-1, if they really over-killed the stations would just compete with each other.
However, if they sell the low power rimshots they'll pretty much have K-Love and Air-1 over the whole market, even more so if 92.5 gets it's upgrade. Let's hope the low power signals at least don't get wasted on boring formats, if they are gotten rid of.
