"Oldies" Coming Back To 103.3 KLOU?

It was not that long ago that "Oldies 103.3" shed the branding in favor of monikers such as the simple "103.3 KLOU", and who can forget "My 103.3"?

But recently, Clear Channel has registered domains like oldies1033fm.com and oldiesstlouis.com, giving the indication that they will be returning the "Oldies" name to the station.

Old news. CC has been rebranding its "classic hits" stations nationwide. Turns out "Oldies" doesn't have the stigma that everyone thought it did and the format is the most PPM-friendly one out there today.

If I were a fan of the real oldies, this would be considered a hopeful development. If that is so, then I'd say "It's about time!"

Bring Back Oldies Radio 103.3 KLOU!

We need a KXOK FM oldies radio owned by CBS WITH A FORMAT LIKE WCBS FM.

Clear Channel Sucks

Count JohnnyOhJohnny as another one of those wanting to see CC permanently broken up. ;D

Well, you can count me in that group as well. Deregulation and the ensuing consolidation has been one of the worst, if not THE worst, things that ever happened to Broadcasting. The airwaves have been in the hands of the few, the elite, for nearly 15 years. How's that been working in the public interest, convenience and necessity?

Can't say I'm impressed. Seems like a very run-of-the-mill 70's-dominated classic hits station, except without as much 80's music, but with the same small list of 60's songs. And the jingles are all wrong for this format. Still, better than nothing I suppose.
