Oldies Coming Back

Saw on the Majic 941 website that the oldies are moving to WLXN at 1440? Is this an attempt to try capture some of the oldies listeners that were left out in the cold when Majic switched? WLXN has 5,000 watts day time power and a fairly good signal but hardly covers Lexington at night. Maybe they'll pick up a translator to give them a better night time coverage. WBRF was the logical station to make this leap but that is a family owned business in Galax that will never budge from the bluegrass and really old country.

Who cares? Oldies on a little po-dunk radio station? Maybe Gig thinks he can hold on to the Oldies thing by putting them there.

Can you really still make a Majic 94.1 request?
I don't want to just hear the phone ring and then get put on hold, like most stations.

When will this happen?

By the way with all this oldies talk, I never hear anyone bring up 920 WPCM? Isn't that an oldies station?

Stafferman,
I've been thinking the same thing throughout the entire oldies thread saga. 920 is a dern fine oldies station. Nice AM signal in Greensboro. There's also sister station 1150 WBAG which plays more of an adult standards variety.

I think WPCM is more "beach" than "oldies," at least in the typical sense of what people on the internet are looking for to be resurrected.
And WBAG is more "adult standards" than the "oldies" people want to see resurrected. Even though they both play "older" music, it's not the same for the "oldies" fans looking for WTRG to pop back up.

When? It's always either talk or beach music when I try to listen.

Uhhhh....I think "nuff said" is reading into the info on that site that ain't going to happen. Of course, I have been kicked to the curb before so we will see!
