Oldies...ever again?

I can't help but wonder if Greenville will ever get another Oldies station...I guess 1070's the best we're going to get? Any ideas what station the format could be on? I think 96.7 would be a good station for it, probably our best bet. Of course, though, I would be ecstatic to see "Oldies 93.7" come back, but I KNOW I'm stretching it there.

96.7 does seem like the best bet, though it's hard to see Clear Channel creating an oldies station.

I think 106.3 will eventually change formats again, but I don't know if Entercom would flip it back to oldies. That would be admitting that they were wrong to change it in the first place (which they were).

For now, I think the only way that it would come back on FM would be on a smaller station that doesn't cover the entire market, like 103.1 in Anderson or 104.9 in Clemson.

In the meantime, at least we have 1510 and 1070. That's better than nothing.

True, but CC came through with something in Virginia Beach, "Cool 92.1." I believe it has a low-power signal like Buzzard and had a similar format before it flipped. Their website is http://www.cool921.com/main.html. Not as professional as WFOG was, but definately better than nothing. And yes, I agree about 106.3 changing formats, probably a "JACK" type would be the best bet.

And, yes, I love 1510! I wasn't too impressed at first but that has REALLY become a good station. Hopefully 1070 will do the same.

My curiosity really is aroused now....guess I need to scan the dial in the morning around 10am?? I have a feeling Oldies 96.7 may become a reality?

FM103.9 has been off....I'll bet a million dollars that they'll simulcast on 103.9 and let Spanish be on 910.

It's in Mono....they just played Rag Doll and it sounds horrible...why isn't it in Stereo? It always has been.

If they were going to simulcast, what would they do on 103.9 from 5am-10am? Bill Drake has purchased that air time on 103.3

Sounds like Brother Bill is doing sweepers for them; I haven't heard him weekends at WKSF in Asheville in a while. The oldies are VERY welcome!!

I hope they go all out and do jingles, have jocks, etc. Does anyone know the reasoning behind these changes? From what I see 12+, both stations were up during the last book.

Spanish is back on 103.9.....they aren't going to get anywhere unless they simulcast on 103.9. I can't even pick it up on the other side of Greenville.

I love 103.3 so far.....why no commercials though? not that I'm complaining. I do have a slight worry though, could this be a stunt??

Davidson usually doesn't operate stations. They lease out all their time so could it be they have leased out more time on 103.3 to someone doing oldies?

For what they paid for those stations, I hope they are getting a good LMA fee...and paid up front.

So if this is leased out, is the new format done by the same company that did Praize? I guess that rules out a simulcast on 103.9....the signal is so bad here the way it's sandwiched between WRIX and WZSN..
