OLDIES LABOR DAY ALL DAY ON 790 WAEB!

they're doin' it again all day labor day from 5am to midnight on 790 WAEB.i enjoyed it back on the 4th.hope they do it often! i do like the oldies online as well.

i hope jeff frank! web site says gunther and craig and others? BTW kudo's to craig stevens for having the oldies online on 790 all day! can't believe it's almost a year that oldies 1470 WKAP became the very short lived WYHM.1470 the fox sports is better.and the calls WSAN! cool....

I wanna hear pushing too hard by the Seeds, Talk Talk by the Music Machine, and Little Red Book by Love!

they need to try and look around for "tiger" Joe McClain, Jay Sands, Gene Kaye, and even Ernie Steigler ( if he's still alive)......

that was the Allentown equal of Herb Oscar Anderson, and Dan Ingram etc...........

Well... two of those four might still be around. WAEB had some great talent "back in the day". Jay and Ernie are gone. I have not heard about Joe or Gene recently.

Then there's the lineup from the mid-70's... Werley... Ackley... Frank... Ryder/Ryan, etc.... and 121,098 overnight guys.

We did an "old-timers weekend" at 99.9 8 yrs ago... on 9/9/1999. What a blast! Some of those guys were involved, since Jeff Frank worked at 99.9 back then. More of those would be wonderul!

Some of these jocks?? - Super Lou, Chris Bailey, Jim Reed, Jefferson (Ward), The Daver and just maybe they could locate Hermit Wetzel & The Country Butcher 8)

another great job by craig stevens! the daver!!! i miss my 'ol partner from the 90's at WMUH! daver would be perfect for an oldies day on 79-0h...BTW....the next oldies online on radio is thanksgiving day.as for those 3 tunes listed....heard "itchycoo park" by small faces yesterday....

I've seen The Daver a few times over the last several years in Upstate New York. He's working with a bunch of radio engineers near the Catskills.

I was listening on Labor Day after Capwell signed off WGPA and I enjoyed most of it. I still do not really care for doo wop. Im all about 60's garage, psychadelia, and pop. I was somewhat surprised to hear Mungo Jerry. I always thought of that song as a 70's FM Rock tune. I also could have done without the silly baby boomer propaganda in between songs about the times when Steel was King and all the other baloney that was being spewed! Otherwise I enjoyed it.

now there's a poll on having the oldies on holidays at www.waeb.com I of course voted yes! well i like all the music and or most of it from the 50's,60's and 70's.i too like the mid to later 60's stuff very much! when i get a regular show on WMUH....i'm playing a lot of that called "the humusic gold radio show".lot's and lot's of mid to late 60's and early 70's.rock,soul,brit invation....etc....

nothing like tooting your own horn huh humwing??? did u also place the poll on the waeb website as well in the first place?? its one thing for non advertised public radio stations, college stations.. or the poor dj's that have to work for not so jolly joe to tell u whats goin on.. its another thing for a radio station that should be payin for advertising to brag about itself on here. just seems like poor taste.

38.4% voted no that they did'nt like the special holiday oldies special. What a bunch of stick in the mud, black sock wearing, white t-shirt wearing, baseball cap wearing, cigar smoking, balding, boring weasels!

they're only doing this to promote their stupid on-line oldies radio station that no one listens to. i'm sure grandpa is listening to the oldies on his laptop while drinking a beer on the back porch.

I think the online oldies is designed for people at work. Im sure they realize that some jabronie old man listening at home while drinking a Pabst is just not a reality.

no i'm not one of the "old" guys sitting around with a beer! maybe a diet coke and a devil dog! LOL! so if i'm the only one of a handfull that enjoyed both hoilday oldies on 790 so what! i like what rod carson, jeff dean and my friend ned richards are doing weekends on jolly joe land WGPA...as for me bragging!?!?!? wow.i'm honered.it's 40 years ago that i wanted to be a DJ....and 26 years with the berg.with many others that are still on the air.chuck morgan, lunar laddar, joe limbus,al mixner..etc.and i didn't put up that poll gunther did.i'm very much a part of lehigh valley radio and proud of it!

Joe Limbus radio 23? That man is crazy! Now we are moving to a different subject.
