Oldies on 95.1 in Lubbock???

I think we have a new pirate radio station in Eastern Lubbock.

Today I was driving down 4th street and discovered something on 95.1 I thought maybe I was picking up an iPod signal from a car near me but that couldn't be it since I had the signal much further than an iPod transmitter can transmit.

The signal comes in pretty strong at around 4th and Buddy Holly. You will start to lose the station when you go past the interstate near Joyland. If you are heading in the opposite direction, you will start to lose the station at around the Super Wal-Mart and then it fades almost completely at around University. So a very very low power signal. Seems to be playing lots of oldies.

Has anyone else heard this on their radio?

Positive that it wasn't. I drove back there earlier tonight and made sure of that.

like i said, the station didn't go very far. seems to come in best at around buddy holly & 4th. can hear it east until you get to Joyland. Can hear it a little bit down Broadway...after you get a little bit past the Wells Fargo building w/ the double T on it.

I wonder if it'll be there tomorrow? Wherever its coming from, the transmitter definitely doesn't broadcast very far...from University & 4th, to Joyland isn't very far.

Don't think its that big of a deal...this station will be hard for people to notice. My stereo happened to stop upon it when i was in a parking lot. If you are driving around and you stumble upon the station, you can only hear it for a few minutes probably then it will quickly fade out.

if im out in that area again tomorrow, ill see if its still there, but i drove back tonight and it was still running.

check it out if your ever out there tomorrow.
