OLDIES ON THE DIAL IN ATLANTA

Oldies are alive and well on the incredible WSB 98.5 HD2 channel, thank God. I have emailed them with my comments and have been replied to many times. I have not turned it off since I heard about it a couple of weeks ago, keep it going WSB, you are now my favorite.

CC, CBS and Cumulus you need to do something with your disasters in this market............

I mean they just played the theme from "Cats"'....The Musical....You won't hear that on the radio anymore....Bravo....Keep it up..........

The playlist is nothing short of amazing, this station would be number 1 in this [EDIT] up radio town.............They play the hits and go very very deep as well................. ;D ;D ;D I hope you PD [EDIT] who have singe handily ruined radio in every market listen to this, to see what radio used to be like.

[EDIT-profanity]

I think everyone is waiting for the shoe to drop at 105.7.

I do enjoy WSB HD 2. They have filled a void for good music for sure and it beats everyone else trying to play the same music and expect to gain an audience. Hey let's play what they are playing! I have been in Atlanta since 1976 and I have not heard radio as bad as it is now. No wonder people have gone away.

it's too bad Ibiquity hosed HD radio and didn't get it into new cars the way Sirius/XM did, otherwise I'd bet you'd see WSB-FM HD2 show up on PPM's. Sadly, they don't stream it online or even mention it anywhere. It's the best kept secret for ADULTS in this market. The music selection is by far the best, it is better than any Pandora or Spotify with the deep cuts. Very well done Cox. Now why can't you at least stream this online? What are you afraid of? People might actually LIKE this and prefer it to the same 20 plastic pop crap on your main signal? Advertisers might actually WANT to buy time to sell to us "old farts?"

There are many folks who think the AM band is a "throwaway". The older demos' are "throwaway" to a lot agencies. The smart thing is to put the "throwaway" aided format on the "throwaway" signal 750. What does Cox have to lose?

How does Can-Con work with oldies stations, particularly those that play a lot of material from before the MAPL (Canadian content rating) system made its debut in the early 1970s? Are they exempt or do they just have to guess as to what qualifies?

I know that when Canadian stations play AT40 The 70s/80s, they swap out the "AT40 Extras" with Can-Con songs if the countdown doesn't have enough Canadian content as is. Trouble is, they play the same old tired crap from Gordon Lightfoot and the Guess Who instead of some deeper stuff that might have been a big hit north of the border but not in the States and fits the date of the chart featured.
