Oldies on WTUE

Do I ever remember the oldies on WTUE! They did a top 500 on Thanksgiving weekend of 1972, which you could get copies of by mailing the station. Among other things, it had Tammy by Debbie Reynolds and Ben by Michael Jackson on it. I would love to have a copy of it again. Even the top 25 turkeys that they did in their oldie slots during Thanksgiving of '74 would be interesting to see again.

On that note, I do remember WTUE releasing their "WTUE Rock Classics" tapes and CDs(I remember getting a copy from Kerrigan and Christopher at a remote in early 1989, which was called "WTUE Rock Classics Vol. 2"). I also remember they used to put out compilation records of local acts, which they called "WTUE Homegrown".

I have the "Homegrown" albums, but I don't think they compare to the ones put out by WEBN. I always thought WEBN Album Project 3 was the best by far. The song "Music, Sex and Cookies" has become something of a local classic.
