but if it's like past books, they won't be released _online_ till almost 5 pm.
Worth checking out but again, it's just 12 + released online to everyone and
not 25-54s. and no show-by-show ratings released to the general public (though

With all due respect to Ms. Blake you know that listeners are slow to grasp any real change and they usually take six months to register a lineup change, Im sure there are those who still think they're listening to JJ. So while that was a great feat, give it another book before annointing her the queen of afternoon drive, it may be residual from JJ's last book, Ive seen it happen.
Either way good for oldies, there is one more reason that we dont have to sit through endless speculation afrom blog happy outsiders as to how he's convinced they're flipping to JACK, or that "freedom is coming" etc..

This board slaughtered Karen when she got the job and predicted she would fail miserably & ODS would flip to Jack. Now that she has outperformed the entire radio station including Hey MAAAA and you want to say people think they're listening to JJ???? Huh???? Are you NUTS?
I guarantee WCBS is looking at these numbers. KB went from #11 to #2 12+
And #1 Women 25-54 Cant get bet much better than that! WAY TO GO KAREN!

Agreed that Karen is a good personality....
But, with all due respect....let's see how she does *without* Christmas Music.
Right now the whole station got caught up in a Christmas music boost.
It's hard to figure out what is Karen....what is Christmas music.

Actually let's be clear:
I said nothing against Karen I actually happen to like her a great deal, however I did say let's give her more than one book before we trumpet her as the queen of afternoon drive. How about an actual book where she was not playing Xmas music?...........A real book in other words. I also congratulated her so dont get it twisted but what i said was also true it takes a good six months or more for the average listener to register any major programming chhange, that is no knock on Karen it's reality.
Congrats to OLDIES overall they killed in this book.

Has JJ EVER been #1 or #2 in any demo at Oldies in afternoon drive since he started there? I think NOT! So now, you're telling people that since he got moved to OVERNIGHTS...and is no where near afternoon drive - his ratings went UP in afternoons.(LOL) Please! Christmas music may have had a little to do with all of the numbers on Oldies...but to move from below 10th place to 1st in afternoons! That has to be people also tuning in to hear Karen. Lose the spin N-I-K. If JJ NEVER got those kind of numbers when he was doing afternoon drive why would he be getting them now? Karen could not have done better! #1 25-54 Women - #2 25-54 adults in Afternoon Drive!
You don't need to give Karen her due...the LISTENERS already have! My only question is which station will give Karen her own morning show.
