Oldies returning to Atlanta?

I noticed on Ibiquity's website that the HD2 format that the website listed for 96.7 was changed from jazz to oldies. Yet, the station is still playing jazz.

Clear Channel had oldies on 94.9 HD2 before they flipped it from Lite to the Bull. Maybe someone at CC with a brain decided to bring the oldies format back instead of jazz which is already available on 91.9 and 107.5.

http://hdradio.com is also showing that oldies are on 96.7 HD2 but you're right, they are still playing Jazz.

Even if CC puts oldies on 96.7 HD2 Atlanta will still be without oldies. You cannot receive 96.7 well if at all in town and by the time you get north of downtown, the signal is too weak to receive WLTM HD2. If you are south of downtown, then you will get oldies on WKEU 88.9 and 96.7 HD2.

The only reason they are doing it is because the format has returned to several markets lately. Maybe they think it will help prevent a station putting it on their main channel.

They should have left oldies on 94.9 HD2.

The oldies on 94.9 were really good and 94.9 has a strong HD signal. I am lucky enough to be on the top of a hill in East Cobb and receive 96.7 and their HD signal reliably. Even though 96.7 plays several songs that 107.5 doesn't, it doesn't make sense to have jazz on an HD2 station and not have oldies on any station when there clearly is some demand for oldies. I noticed that Clear Channel has the same or similar HD2 formats in several markets and none of them include oldies. It seems more likely that CBS would put their oldies format on 103.3.
