Oldies station on the San Mateo County Coast

I was on the radio-locator website and noticed what appears to be an oldies station with a low wattage stick out of Moss Beach on the 89.3 frequency. According to another website, they are heard from Half Moon Bay to the Outer Sunset in San Francisco. I hav'nt done any FM DXing to confirm this but it seems to be owned by a non-conglomerate. Listening for about 15min so far they seem to range from mid 60's to late 80's on their playlist (Gaye's "Sexual Healing", U2 "I Still Hav'nt Found What I'm Looking For", Rolling Stones "I Can't Get No Satifaction"). I admit they have played some rare tunes thus far ****sarcasm***, but I'll give them a little more than 15min. before I write them off as another cookie cutter classic hits station.
Here is the link: http://www.893qfm.com/

The web site says "Pacifica's Only Local Radio Station"

But 89.3 QFM??? NO!!! that is to be used at 102!!!!!! This can't be happening!!!!!! Why, why, WHY!!!!!!!!
First 95.7 flips to Sports, not Live 105 and now this?????? Hurry up may 21st and put me out of my misery!!!!

Crappy website though, none of the links work.

Next thing we know KKIQ will start using Ibiquity's famous "HD" radio. For those who follow ba.broadcast, their engineer will not permit it since Ibiquity is an epic fail.

It's KARC, a satellite station rebroadcasting the programming of one of Bill Lacy's stations in Florida. It is for sale. Wanna buy it? Call Bill.

Does people in SF could pick it up, I know 89.5 KPOO

There are a bunch of 89.3s in the Bay Area besides KARC. There's KPDO in Pescadero, KPFB in Berkeley, and KOHL at Ohlone College in Fremont. I can get KARC from about Half Moon Bay north to SF along by the beach. As I drive toward downtown SF, KARC gets beaten up by KOHL at about 33rd Avenue.

I would imagine KOHL has a much stronger signal. Growing up in the San Bruno highlands in the 80's, I would pick them up quite clearly and since it was TOP 40, it became one of my favorite stations. Back then they used to sign off at midnight.

San Jose Unified School's radio 89.3 FM KMTG operated by Pioneer High School add to the interference.

How far north is KMTG's reach? I'm in Mountain View and I listen to KOHL without any interference from KMTG

KMTG uses a directional antenna to protect both KOHL and others to the north. KMTG was KLEL (Leland High School) in the old days, and was non-directional with 100 watts from the bottom of the Almaden Valley. All the other south Bay stations had to protect KLEL back then. The antenna was moved to a water storage facility on the west slopes of the Almaden Valley in 2005. The signal from KMTG covers south San Jose, and on down towards Morgan Hill.
