Olympic Gymnastics: NBC Tries to Pull a Fast One

Stunts like this really doesn't help NBC's seemly soured credibility of handling the Olympics. Maybe in the past they could get away with it, but not in today's hyper awareness social media world.

It'll be interesting to see how NBC will be like when it's time to renew the broadcast rights again. Remember, the current deal is until 2020.

And then we have the L.A. Times critique of Ryan Seacrest's "contribution" to the London Olympics. Hilarious! They skewered his "blandocity" and total lack of knowledge of sports. While interviewing the American women gymnasts, for example, instead of discussing the sport itself or Olympic gymnast history, he invokes the name of Justin Bieber; familiar ground for him but a person totally irrelevant to the Olympics.

It seems that Ryan is proving to be such an embarrassment to NBC (as well as a ratings boat anchor) that the network has cut down his appearances in prime time.

I'm SO glad CBC is regaining the Olympics for 2014 [Winter] and 2016 [Summer]. Then I can watch not-so-suspenseful-hyper-and-not-hosted-by-Ryan-Seacrest coverage.
