Olympics on CBC (CBUT) and King 5

Just to be clear....they have about 5 channels running Olympics (all NBC affiliated) ... a very deep web site, but all the criticism is based on the ONE of the networks choosing the highlights for their "PRIME TIME" coverage?

Don't think you're judging the complete picture here.

The time shift thing MAY be worthy of complaint ... but if you drop $2B it doesn't seem reasonable to expect people to tune in overnights/mornings.

You mean their constantly freezing streams? Or their tape-delaying of track and swimming events to night time by almost 12 hours? Or terrible announcers? Or their website saying Australia was in Europe and Serbia is on the Adriatic coast?

And you can only get streaming if you are a cable subscriber and you have to register on top of that.

I've been watching the BBC's coverage and it's vastly superior. Oh, and they created 24 FREE Olympic channels and streaming is free with no strings attached.

"Simsub" applies to syndicated US programming, not just prime-time network fare...

I'm aware of that, Scott. My point was that on their online listings (CTV's, for instance) they seem to think (most of the time) that the syndicated talkers originate with  one of the U.S. networks, which is not the case. I just find that a bit goofy.

Maybe not, but drop about 15 million Loonies (or whatever CTV had on them) and watch the sheep come running. My TV's been on all night while they've been showing stuff. I daresay more than a few Canadians are sleep-deprived as well.

In fairness to the Peacock, they have been quite generous in showing events on their cable/satellite side Live when possible. We know of the demands of the Today Show on weekdays as well. At least NBC woke up and made the weekend coverage Live after the first weekend. They can still do better, however.
