1070: KLIO. Was looking for KNX...which I may have had underneath, but sort of doubt it.

KLIO the former KFDI in Wichita was a nice catch. KLIO runs 1kw at night from a three tower directional array beamed pretty much north/south up and down US 81. Here in Dallas pre-IBOC, I could hear KFDI/KLIO regularly whenever I null out KNX. However, since KRLD-AM's launch of night-time IBOC service, I've had to say goodbye to anything on 1070 and 1090.

Thanks. KLIO has been pretty solid nighttime all week here, but very easy to null. I've been trying for KNX since I've been here. I'm pretty sure I had it 2-3 times, including this morning. Haven't been able to positively ID, however. What DID break through, however last night and again before dawn this morning was KHMO, from Hannibal, MO. Another 1kw "mouse that roared". ;D

wDaytime bandscan highlights. Saturday, Nov 3, 1pm CDT clear weather. First of all, city grade signal for all locals (including 590, 660, 1020, 1110, 1180, 1290, 1420, 1490, 1560, 1620).

540: KWMT, fair
550: KFRM, very weak
580: WIBW, weak under local 590 null
610: Kwansas City fair
640: WOI, good
680: KFEQ, fair
710: KCMO, fair
720: barely audible "something", but unidentifiable. WGN?
780: WJAG, fair-good
810: WHB, fair
840: O'Neill, NE, good
920: KYFR, fair
940: KPSZ, fair
960: KMA, good
1040: WHO, fair-good
1240: KFOR, fair-poor
1340: KHUB, fair
1350: KRNT very weak
1460: KXNO very weak

no x-banders other than local 1620. If I get a chance, I'll see if I can fill in some of the other blanks.

Just to finish this off, I kept on my mission to snag CKWX and KNX during my stay in Omaha. No apparent success with either, however. I thought I probably had snatches of each, but couldn't confirm or positively ID.

I was also trying to see if I could hear R. Reloj on 570 under semi-local WNAX. I had hoped that the Morse code pips might be able to break through, but I never heard them. I also tried for R. Reloj on 790 and 950....less actively, but also to no avail.
