OMG - KTAR Discovers The Phone

Noticeably gone from Mac 'n Gaydo's lexicon is "The Source", their high tech euphemism for taking listener calls. Now these PM pissants are openly calling " the phones", the phones. Nurse Jeff darn near drove the '76 Gremlin into a Buckeye canal while listening to 92~Three this afternoon. Good thing the windows no longer roll down, otherwise he'd be at the bottom of the brine along with Food City grocery carts and SRP white amours. YIKES!

Nothing worse than letting the angry rabble call into a show. Unless you then mock them.

I would much rather have some free flowing dialogue or at least different voices on the air from time to time than just one (or two) people blathering at me incessantly. Good hosts involve listeners in multiple ways into their program, while bad shows continue to pretend that the listeners aren't there and, before you know it, they won't be!

Sure, KTAR's old talk formula of spit-out-a-topic and take calls on said topic for an hour was pretty lame but in those days (early 2000s and before) they were #1, now they are distant 10th (during a good book and often worse). KTAR just doesn't know what they're doing, really.

KTAR used to be ENTERTAINING. The idiots calling in were FUNNY. It was good radio. Why, by Bonneville's criteria, is it ok for listeners to call in about money (when the station's on Ramsey time) and it's ok for listeners to call in about sports, but news is off-limits for callers? Their old formula wasn't broken -- there was no need to fix it. Now, you've got a station run by Ramsey (how is his a NEWS show?) with soccer mom lifestyle talk weekday mornings. I hope Bonneville's suits are proud of how much they've run 92.3 into the ground. They made Jim and Jayme unlistenably bad, too -- I never thought it would get so bad I couldn't bear to sit through it to get to Detour Dan's traffic updates -- and listeners STILL can't play "fact or fiction" with Dumb and Dumber.

Ding - ding - ding
We only give 92~3 a listen when we drive into the metropolis. Detour Dan is our hope for avoiding the possible traffic jam.
Then we quickly change megahertz...anywhere else!!

Does Bonneville bother to listen, themselves? Just sayin'

What I'd like to know is: Why does take a significant news event (the not-so-good tragedy kind of event, provided the suits didn't turn the station over to Ramsey yet) - or - a holiday (like Christmas or New Year's) for KTAR to act like a bona fide news/talk station? Any winter visitors or newbies tuning in today really won't recognize the station once the Dumb and Dumber and Ramsey schedule returns.
