OMG 97.7 is on the air saying they are moving to 106.7 on Jan 31st. Question does this mean Lobo moves back to 97.7 om 1/31? Funny when they moved Lobo to 106.7 it was to help them against la jefa and since then LOBO has crashed and 97.7 was wild then OMG. Question does AGM have anyone their with a Brain, They gave up Classic Country and that has been getting great Numbers for the other guys. They are on the air saying OMG will no longer have static...I can hear the conversation between an agm sales person and a new client OH you want me to be on 97.7 that station with the static...why not just say were moving.

What do my fellow ABQ braodcasters think
 
First thing they should do is get rid of that "OMG!" moniker. That's like calling your station "LOL 97.7" or something.
 
OMG moving to 106.7fm means just that! They're moving and Lobo is going bye bye. La Jefa won the war. The question is who's gonna benefit from Lobo not being here anymore? Will La Ley, Jose, or Tricolor make a run at La Jefa and do they even have a good enough product to compete? Oh by the way, any body hiring out there?
 
Well if Lobo is going bye bye what is going on 97.7 Classic Rock? Christian Talk? What else is out there?
 
Hey Double C...ditto K6JHU's suggestion of KIVA on 97.7. It doesn't have to be a move...how about a simulcast...helps on two fronts...draws some younger demos to FM Talker, and significantly helps nightime coverage when the AM 1550 Mothership powers down to light bulb status :)

Another format possibility for 97.7? How about "Timeless Cool"...or a locally produced version thereof, smooth jazz vocal/ac standards/soft pop fusion format targeted at 35+...the market has plenty of FM players pounding away at 12-24, 18-34 and 25-49 demos with Hip-Hop, Classic-pop, Country-pop, Spanish-pop, Alternative-pop, Modern-pop, AC-pop, and not-so-pop :)
 
I hear ya about time less Cool/ smooth jazz it has not been a winner in the market for Moola and seems to be dropped everywhere you look. I say if ya put on the syndicated Time Less cool on and keep the over head to a minnimum and have sales folks that know the format and how to sell it then you will make money and that is all that matters. If that is the case I would tell AGM to go for it
 
Sad to see Lobo go...Being on the air for some many years is an incredible achievement. All good things must end! Long Live the King.
 
As I hear it OMG is on Both as of now until new format debuts on 2/13 on 97.7
 
Since they are not promoting anything for 97.7, I would suspect that the result will be nothing. They will continue to simulcast on both frequencies since one is better to the north and the other is better to the south.
 
I understand a new format is to debut on 97.7 on Monday the 14th. Any one have a thought on what it might be?
 
I have not heard a thing yet....Could be Bad Intel like W and WMD
