The latest ratings were released today and I can't believe my eyes. Somebody please explain this. KQXT is #1 going from a 3.2 to 9.9,KXXM 4.4 to 9.6,KCYY 4.6 to 8.5,KONO 6.1 to 8.1,KSMG 2.4 to 7.9,KZEP 3.7 to 7.5,KAJA 4.8 to 6.2,KJXK 3.3 to 5.7,WOAI 6.4 tp 4.5,KLEY 1.2 to 4.3,KISS 5.2 to 4.1,KTFM 1.6 to 3.6. What happened? Why the big changes. KQXT,KXXM,KCYY,KONO MAGIC,KJ, and KJXK have never had numbers like this. Somebody explain please.
 
Q101.9 did well because of the holidays but reality will soon set in.
106.7 Talk- Cox needs to pull the damn plug and put a real format on that frequency.
KTFM- This station will likely do better now that they added some Top 40 to playlist.

Anyhow, props to Mix 96. They been sounding better for several months now so no surprise with the positive numbers.
 
do you guys ever see univision going ppm? if so, when?

Mix 96 only does well now because they have added more rhythmic songs, instead of playing the usual pop stuff that they are shoving down out throats.

Mix is doing much better because they adjusted the playlist...Not sure how long you've been in SA but Mix used to play a lot that Pop Rock crap that KTFM plays. This is something that KTFM(Landis) still hasn't been able to realize that it doesn't work in SA.

The funny thing about it is that KTFM has the people to be a dominant player in this market. However, Landis is too conservative and has zero knowledge of this market.
 
i agree that ktfm has the people to be successful. their airstaff is the best in the city. great content from mid days and afternoon every day. theyre plugged in.

but yall amaze me. hot ac works in hispanic markets. look at dallas houston phoenix and other markets. landis needs to quit playing so much pop and rhythmic music and focus on the great pop-alt music that is out there. he's brilliant for playing green river ord, uncle kracker, & others. i also heard modestyahoo (sp?) last week. brilliant!

KTFM recently added Top 40 to it's playlist. Prior to that the station has been a mainly Hot AC with some of the lowest rated radio stations in SA. So to say that it's brilliant to play artists(from the above mentioned) is a bit extreme.

My friend, Chick Woolery was being sarcastic. This person has already displayed their displeasure with not only Landis but also KTFM.
 
i actually wasn't being sarcastic. ive been critical of ktfm because they try to sound like all the other stations which will just always make you the second or third push button. theyre brilliant for selecting songs they can own. modestyahoo is something noone else will touch. that makes them different. good. and i do think their air staff is great.
 
Can they really keep FM Talk on 106.7 when the station is doing much worse than the two talk stations on AM? How is the 106.7 signal btw?
