Omnia 3FMT malfunctions?

Hi All,

I have a very strange problem with an Omnia 3FMT. Sometimes when the device is booted up, it doesn't load the proper input output settings. ie. It boots up with very high input gain settings and output gain settings, which leads to extreme loud and distorted audio.
When the omnia is rebooted again it will load the stored (good ) settings again. This happens in 3 out of 10 boots.

The strange thing is, that if the error occurs the stored presets are loaded without any problem, it only seems as if the input output settings are errornious.
The backup battery seems fine.

Anyone a clue? Perhaps Frank?

Evert

Evert,

Yes, this seems quite strange. Off the top of my head, not sure what would cause this. Wondering if there's a cold solder joint near a memory chip on the motherboard. Please contact our Support Dept, and they will assist.

I have our 03T on a UPS so it never has to drop power. In three years the only time it was rebooted was when I added the Turbo upgrade.

Good Luck.

Keep in mind that most modern processors are basically computers...so putting them on UPS's aren't a bad idea in the first place. I have all ours on them, and never have a problem. I do believe the manual even highly recommends putting the O3t on UPS.
